Phillips Lumea - what Happens next? drunk usage!

Hello!

I am a bit tipsy and so have just plucked up the courage to use my Lumea for the first time. That first flash was terrifying!

I've done my lower legs, arms and armpits. Armpits were terrifying!

So what happens next? Will nothing grow back now for a few weeks? Or will it come back and I just do it again in 2 weeks? Will the little dots under my skin fall out?

I am excited to be hair free potentially! What level do you all use yours on? Is this going to change my life

Fab thanks twirly

I'm off work today - me and DD having a PJ day morning. I'll shower and shave later then (then I'll start swigging the booze)...

ItGoesWithoutSaying · 05/04/2016 08:28

You're supposed to get drunk first? (Goes off to Amazon to start looking at prices.) Grin

stealtheatingtunnocks · 05/04/2016 17:05

I see! i thought you'd be left with stubble - but, it zaps the hair root in the follicle?

Waiting on an invoice being paid - and then I'm getting one of these suckers. and prosecco

Seeyounearertime · 05/04/2016 17:29

I have a Remington dealy but it's the same IPL type.

I have to say its been great. It doesn't remove hair though.
My tips would be to shave as close to the skin as you can before doing it so that the light hits naught but folicle. If there is any hair there it will singe it off and mke it painful.
Also, don't get anywhere near a tattoo... Ouchy ouchy. It boils the ink in your skin.

I don't know about the alcohol either tbh? I think it works best when you're hydrated and alcohol dehydrates?

Pinkvici22 · 05/04/2016 20:29

Ok it's here - and it's charging.

Going to shower and shave and hopefully it'll be charged up by then! So excited!!

Pinkvici22 · 05/04/2016 21:42

I've done it - lower legs, bikini and underarms...and I'm not even drunk.

I am however slightly concerned I've probably missed loads.

Seeyounearertime · 05/04/2016 21:44

If you have missed bits, don't worry, what you miss this time you'll probably get the time after. Grin

SmileAndNod · 06/04/2016 06:59

I think I missed loads on my legs too I have trouble getting the thing to make contact and light up as ready. Any tips for doing legs? Do I have to get myself into a weird position or something? Not been brave enough to tackle arms or face yet...

I have done my face, underarms, more of my bikini line than is recommended, legs and arms and toes around 4 times now. I have little to no hair under my arms where I used to get growth within hours so even if that's the extent of the results I'm pretty happy.

Face seems to be happening slowly and legs have developed some baldy patches although my knees don't appear to have become less hairy.

Bikini line is really satisfying. I use setting 5 and after a week or so if I tweeze some of the little hairs growing through they just come out with absolutely no pain, it's very addictive.

Arms have slowed in growth. Overall it's the best purchase I've ever made and I'm looking forward to more results!!

I think my toes have blonde hair which is why they're still hairy

twirlypoo · 06/04/2016 07:41

Ooh this has moved on loads - hurrah for yours arriving and sober usage pink! You are brave!

That's really heartening to read about all the progress you have made strawberry I am the proud owner of really dark hairy toes so those bad boys were my first target! I would be in heaven if I could sort my face, under arms and bikini line. I need to do some more areas tonight.

Did you wait the full 2 weeks to do the other areas? I want to be hair free now!!!!!

With some areas I left it 2 weeks - I'm not really keeping track which I probably should. Underarms I've done way more. I've read all of the info about active hairs etc but surely where there are some hairs that grow in a day those follicles must be more active? sideburns also greatly reduced

Saw a photo of myself from the back with my hair up the other day and I'm considering attacking the back of neck hair that appears to be there???

TulipStream · 07/04/2016 09:55

I must be doing mine wrong, I'm using mine once a week and Ive been using it for the last 6 weeks and Ive still got hair. Maybe I should be using it more than once a week

Also mine doesn't hurt to use, it's a quick zap, nothing that requires alcohol..
Unlike epilating which was evil.

Ibought the boots version for 300. Maybe I should have went for the Philips. :(

BonitaFangita · 09/04/2016 23:04

I tried the Smooth Skin Gold before I got the Lumea but I found it really difficult to use. I think the laser was a bit to big and not very flexible. I've used the Lumea 3 times now and am really impressed.
I'm normally really hairy and will be stubbly the next day after shaving, I get loads of ingrowing hairs with epilating or waxing and find it really painful.
With this I've had no pain, I have hardly any hair on my legs and they feel really smooth, my underarms and bikini line have just started getting a little bit of stubble, but I last shaved seven days ago, I'm well chuffed Grin

Pinkvici22 · 01/05/2016 21:36

How's everyone getting on?

I've used mine 3x now - leaving approx 2 week gap between usage. I've been doing bikini, underarms and legs. I'm seeing a noticeable improvement, especially underarms and bikini. It seems to have really stopped my ingrown hairs too (sorry TMI).

I love it!
