What should I wear for my big birthday house party

I turn 30 next week, and I'm having a house party. It will most likely spill over into the garden so the doors will be open and I doubt my house will be very warm.
I have NO IDEA what to wear. I want a reasonably special outfit, because it's the only birthday party I've ever had, but suitable for a house party. Any ideas?

How exciting! What sort of things do you normally wear and what bits do you like showing/hiding?

I would probably go for a long sleeve maxi dress:
black beaded
floral
print

or a midi tulle skirt with a 3/4 sleeve boat neck jumper
skirts here

I usually wear skinny jeans and chiffon shirts or jumpers with converse in the day and leather look leggings with various tops when I go out.
I'm generally trying to disguise my baby belly (the baby is 2 Hmm) I lost loads of weight for my wedding at Christmas but I've put it all back on.
I have that floral maxi dress! And I love the skirts. I was thinking of going for that look for a wedding next month. I have a few maxi dresses like that (all off Asos). Maybe I should just wear one of them. Is it not too dressy?

Oh also I am only 5 foot. I don't know if I'll have time to take anything up!

No! Not too dressy! It's your party and its at your house so the only people who will see you are your friends so you need not worry at all! I always overdress the most at parties at home (although my furry slipper boots are normally on with the sequins and glam by the end of the night!) sure you will look fab and have an amazing time Smile
