Bra help for teen reluctant to embrace her curves

Dd has spent the last 3 years in sports bras -sometimes 2 at the same time incredibly self conscious

She's asked if she can have a proper bra -measured her at 33/38
....but she was wearing a sports bra at the time

This is going to be trial and error trying on at home
Must have a full cup
No padding

Help!

OK, if you measured that whilst wearing a bra then chances are the underbust measurement is a bit high (sports bras especially tend to squidge down a bit) so best guess would be a 32 underbust.

On the flip side, the overbust will almost certainly be lower than it would be if measured correctly as the vast majority of sports bras work by compression. It's likely this measurement is a good couple of inches too small. So let's say that puts her at 40 overbust. That would be a 32FF as a very, very rough starting point.

Would she measure herself?

Not without a bra on

I've told her she can do it over a vest but she doesn't like the feel of not having a bra on -she has sensory issues which complicates things

She has refused anything other than sports bras deliberately because she wanted to flatten her chest

Maybe she could tolerate a Bravissimo fitting. What they do is look at you in the bra you come in, do a few checks like pulling on the band to see how it fits and then bring you some potentials to try on. They are pretty good and if she's shy they'll happily let her try on a bra, then come in, adjust the straps, check the fit...and rinse and repeat until they work out the size.

They won't actually use a tape measure at all because they go by fit

Aww, poor lamb - it's horrid when you feel betrayed by hp your body, isn't it.

You're going to have to buy a pile and take back the non starters, aren't you?

The bra zones on here can maybe advise what is good for 'control' , and is least cleavagey?

Zones was oddly meant to read... experts
