Has anyone spotted any nice dresses anywhere?

I need sleeves, past or on my knee. Don't mind fabric. To wear with tights and converse or sandals. Size 16.

Many thanks x

White company have really lost their way of late, even if I do find something reasonable the quality isn't great for the price.

I got this recently and I'm pleased with it. It's knee length on me (5'6")

Ah thanks MissBattleaxe.

Glacinda- I agree with you word for word! I like Joe Browns because they are the best shape for me. However, I also only like them because there's not much competition from anyone else.

I like their sleeve length, dress length, and flattering wrap/empire style torso coverage. BUT! Then there'll be a random patch of crochet or Mexican chilli pattern or something. If they could keep the dress shapes and colours and not try so hard to be quirky, I would buy from there and there alone.

MissBattleaxe I think the designers work partime with Joe Browns and partime with Per Una Smile

Agree holly.

"Let's make a classic flattering dress"
"OK then"
"But then let's add half a patchwork sleeve and some woollen flowers"
"Great idea!"

This looks as if it could be half decent.

I like this

I like Seasalt for wearable dresses with sleeves. I'm 5 foot 7 and size 12/14.

Im kinda place Marking!

I have a similar list except I need to add on my largish bust which means i don't want a high neckline, a nice rounded or v neckline that shows a tiny amount of cleavage. Near impossible request it seams!

I really love www,emilyandfin.co.uk but I keep finding them too short. Sizing I find is a little on the small side too.

I have some lovely dresses from get cutie, brighton but lately the fabric choices are a bit too "Brighton".

I also have a few nice work dresses from sainsburys, although lately the cut of their armholes/sleeve setting is very odd making them fit weirdly.

The linked dresses are nice, but all shorter than the (proper) midi that I wish ai could find. I don't like how knee length looks on me.

Joe Brown have some that length, and I don't mind looking a bit 'Brighton'. But I don't want to look completely random (IYSWIM). The actual choice of clothes for sale is very limited (says someone who only bought one pair of jeans through the whole of the 90s because skinnies totally vanished then, and who has only bought one dress at knee length, which means only one dress full stop for some years now).

It's a contraction: fashion writers talk about finding your style and sticking to it, but are talking about an industry that does not work that way.
