Jeans you can tuck shirt into and look slimming - not skinny/jegging style

I was watching catchup TV - how to shop well for less and loved the jeans the presenter with the long hair (Alex?) was wearing. The were faded, with a tartan shirt tucked in and a nice belt.

All my jeans are jegging style and I'd love a pair like this - but the other thing is that presenter is tiny- do you think it's only a style that is flattering/slimming on her type of figure?

I'm size 12 after loosing a lot of weight but still have a tummy. It'd take a lot of confidence to wear jeans like this after years of baggy tops but would it be a good look? Also price would be an issue as I've spent a lot on replacing clothes which don't fit me any more - which is great but a nightmare at the same time as my 'good' things are now far too big.

For people who didn't see the show/remember - the jeans were faded, really well fitted, couldn't see the leg shape but probably not skinny, kind of just sitting above hip, not on the waist. And she wore them with a brown belt and shirt tucked in.

Any ideas/recommendations/links would be appreciated.

Go to TK Max and get a posh brand. You'll find they're Levis, Ralph Lauren or Diesel.

I buy top shop baxters for this
They are proper jeans which I think are more slimming than jeggings

Many thanks for suggestions - any thoughts on the style aspect/size 12 wearing this? Or do you need to be smaller. Is this look 'in' at the minute? And any other ideas of what to try would be welcome.

For me, I don't think it's a question of size so much as shape and / or finding the right shirt and jeans. I've seen plus size models (maybe size 20 or thereabouts) looking amazing wearing this sort of thing (haven't seen that episode of the show though, so not sure if I'm picturing the right thing). If you're more of an apple then a really tight shirt tucked in to wide leg jeans mightn't be the thing, whereas it might suit a pear shape.

I'm a 'peapple'* myself - big hips but carry all my fat to the front on boobs and tum and I struggle with anything where you can see the waist of my jeans as I end up with a wee pot belly. I am bigger than you though (size 14/16 - more of a 16).

*disclaimer - I stole that word from another S&B thread Grin.

It's a classic look. Think sexy cowgirl. So never goes out.

You need to find the right jeans for you.

I agree it's not about size but getting things that fit you well. I'm currently a 14 or 12 depending on the cut/brand/time of month/amount of chocolate I've eaten and I do this from time to time. I like Ohwotsitthistime's comment about the sexy cowgirl look. It explains why I feel like I'm on the pull suddenly when I do this, but I also do this sometimes at work as a dress down from more formal clothing, fitted cords and a tucked in shirt. It's also really comfortable.
