is it just me or are some of the current fashions a bit dodgy

May be just showing my age but was looking through the new next directory last night and was a bit especially at culottes, aztec-y stuff and some of the dodgy colours about. Same in H & M. It's hard to find anything I even want to buy for summer.

I had the 'joy' of shopping with DD yesterday, she's already planning her Summer wardrobe (we're going on holiday in Oct so I'll wait a bit longer)

I like Aztec, and was tempted to buy some patterened trousers but in reality, I'm more likely to wear a patterned top and plain shorts/trousers.

There was a heck of a lot of terracota/ginger (is that an 'In' colour for summer/ )

Cullottes/cropped flares/Girlfriend Jeans.......erm, nope

No, it's like all retro trends, you get the best bits first, then they start trawling the dregs to try and wring every £££ out of the same trend before it dies.

So, as we're currently re-living the 90s and the 70s, we've been given the streamlined 90s minimalist period, and the nice Studio 54 styles of the 70s, and we're now into the nasty rave period of the 90s with oversized Aztec prints and we're overdoing the 70s by putting a fringe and a frayed edge on everything else. Both in yucky brown and purple and orange.

I haven't seen a real life person in culottes or cropped flares yet and I live in a city so who they are for I don't know.

Having said that from what I've seen in the shops and online I like the new season stuff better than I liked winter's blanket coats and wraps.

I've been wearing culottes for the past three years, quite liking 90s minimalism. Won't be trying cropped flares, no ta. Aztec is too busy for me, hate brown/ginger and fringing is annoying.
