Not quite what I expected - is that a veil? but she looks well happy.

Loved the colour. What an eclectic bunch of guests. I googled Jade Jaggers jewellery the other day gorgeous but I was shocked at the prices.

ouryve · 06/03/2016 20:06

Well, David Bailey had his best New Balance trainers on!

I thought her dress was lovely, as were the bridesmaid dresses in a similar style. The one like a Disney princess dress up costume was just weird and odd looking, though.

CocktailQueen · 06/03/2016 20:10

Thought all the guests looked like tramps. Was shocked at how old Andrew Lloyd-Webber looked. Dresses a pretty colour but wtf about the hem? Looked like they wre tucked into her knickers. Hideous.

She is too old for her hair. Awful awful shoes. And wtf is she doing marrying him?? Awful old crook.

blahblueblah · 06/03/2016 20:55

I quite liked how the guests looked quite eclectic - traditional wedding clothes are bloody awful, I hope this is indicating a new direction towards something a little less pucky.

herecomesthsun · 06/03/2016 20:57

The dress was apparently some sort of special commission from Vivienne Westwood, so potentially very good choice.

I'm surprised Marie Helvin wasn't there. Grace Jones too. I would've loved that!

hollyisalovelyname · 06/03/2016 22:03

Apparently Jerry used to colour her own hair. I'm not sure that is still the case.

APotterWithAHappyAtmosphere · 06/03/2016 22:14

It's a bit Per Una.

hollyisalovelyname · 11/03/2016 07:30

APotter re your Per Una comment.
You hit the nail on the head.
Brilliant.

It ought to be crystal clear that money does not always go hand in hand with a sense of style or good taste. To assume it does it making a huge assumption about the rich.

polyhymnia · 11/03/2016 11:56

Not defending him in general but before he went into politics Michael G was a leading journalist on the Times, which is owned by RM.

polyhymnia · 11/03/2016 11:58

PS did see JH in my (and her) local department store with very rough straw like hair so can believe she colours it herself. The dress was a bit droopy and virginal bride for my taste. Think she could have carried off something much more elegant. But it is her first wedding after all, so up to her.

GingerLDN · 11/03/2016 12:02

The dress was £8000 (so I read) what a rip off the whole outfit was awful as were the bridesmaids dresses. She has a nice face/ hair though.

hollyisalovelyname · 11/03/2016 17:15

Thanks Poly- i'm not in the UK and didn't know that.
On one of the Irish radio stations a British journalist linked Gove / the Sun and the wedding in relation to a discussion on the Queen and Brexit opinion.

fatherpeeweestairmaster · 11/03/2016 18:31

Bill Wyman isn't well - isn't he in the middle of cancer treatment?

Not a fan of the shoes, either. I couldn't decide if it was quite sweet that Jerry didn't want to draw attention to the height difference, or if it was a bit surrendered wife already. I bet Murdoch wouldn't have cared if she'd worn stilettos, though: for all his grimness, I doubt he's got the same shortarse complex as her last despotic husband-but-in-name-only-not-for-legal-purposes-please-check-T&Cs.

BUT I thought Jerry looked really happy. Not in a Katie Holmes, in it for the money way, either.

EachandEveryone · 11/03/2016 18:52

I wonder if she's left that lovely a richmond house now? The one that the lovely Mick wanted her out off the minute the youngest went to uni?

Floisme · 11/03/2016 19:13

I think very few women look good in a wedding dress, sorry. Jerry manages it better than most but I think she'd have looked absolutely stunning in that blue, 50s-style frock that Sarah Murdoch was wearing.

I have a soft spot for Jerry and I think it speaks volumes for her that her step daughters and Bianca Jagger turned up.

AmberNectarine · 11/03/2016 20:06

Agree, I'm not a fan of 'traditional' wedding dresses. I think she looks fantastic. Her two daughters are absolutely stunning too.

Incidentally that church is right near my office!

EachandEveryone · 11/03/2016 20:32

It was pretty low key really wasn't it? Bainca was on the tv a lot last week. She is interesting. Jade looks happy in herself. I didn't see Jerrys daughters crack their faces but yes they are very attractive although how they are top models is beyond me where the sons there?

pilates · 11/03/2016 20:52

I thought she looked nice, except the shoes, which were dreadful.
