I've just ordered this dress to wear to my my cousins wedding in April:

www.asos.com/Chi-Chi-London/Chi-Chi-London-Premium-Lace-Midi-Prom-Dress-with-Bardot-Neck/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=5911925&istCompanyId=6f061ed0-7427-4b6c-bb90-987c0bd08468&istItemId=malrxwtxa&istBid=t&affid=12252

I think it's really pretty and love the colour, but am a bit stumped as to what sort of colour cardigan/shrug would work with it.

As it's April it could be a sunny spring day or chucking it down with rain (probably the latter!).

Any help would be much appreciated Smile

Hi DavetheCat clicked on your link to be nosy really as I have a wedding to go to in May but the Asos link doesn't seem to work?

Hi

Gorgeous dress! I think a cardigan might then make it look a bit 'meh'...

How about this:

Or this:
http://m.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod107011100010870106308466-1

Different textures but not overwhelming...

Wow lovely dress but I'm a bit stumped too! Def a short cardi or shrug as you want it to finish above the waist line to show off the shape of the dress. All I can think is a neutral colour, black or white and not too fussy so the dress can be the main focus. Maybe match it to your shoes?

Hopefully it will be warm enough to take off as the lace cut out on the back looks amazing and wear your hair off your shoulders too.
Sorry can't give specific examples! Have a great time.

TheMasterMurderedMargarita · 08/02/2016 20:31

Was coming to say a fur shrug or fitted blazer.
Dress is lovely!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 08/02/2016 20:32

Love cissy's 1st pick for you! Costs more than the actual dress but hopefully you can wear again.

VulcanWoman · 08/02/2016 20:33

Lovely dress. I think if you do get something, it would be better in the same colour if possible.

LadyPriggsbottom · 08/02/2016 20:36

Agree with cissy that I wouldn't really put a cardi with that tbh... Maybe a cropped jacket? I have a navy, open fronted one from LK Bennett which I think would work .

It looks a bit like this:

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I like the furry shrug idea, also that cropped Monsoon cropped cardigan is nice too.

Given me some good ideas Smile

Just hope the dress suits me. The girl in the vid looks gorgeous but then again she is probably about 20 years younger than I am!

I like this

Looks like it is sold out though

Just caught me before I go to bed.. I think you could. It looks like it nips in at the waist and great price. Nothing worse than being freezing cold at a wedding.

stumblymonkey · 09/02/2016 06:44

Beautiful dress!!!

I also think a cardi would ruin the look...why not use a wrap instead?

You can then drape it around your shoulders and it will tie in with the glamorous feel of the dress...

VulcanWoman · 09/02/2016 06:57

I like the pink coat but I think it will take away from the dress.
monkey a wrap would look better but OP wanted something warmer I think, plus wraps are a pain in the arse falling off and needing adjusting all the while.

DavetheCat2001 · 13/02/2016 13:18

Here's the dress and thankfully the shoes I have I think work ok with it. I was worried as they are a paler shade they may look wrong, but think they are ok.

It's a very pretty dress. Just wondering now if it's too 'dressy' for a wedding? Hmm

Do I look like a bridesmaid?

Can you help with a cardigan to go with this dress please?

I ended up getting this jacket to go with it.

Probably not ideal but I'd rather be warm, and it was a bargain!

I don't think you look like a bridesmaid.

Lovely dress and also really like your shoes! Jacket will be warm, can we see it on with the dress?

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 13/02/2016 13:43

No! Weddings are a great excuse to get dressed up! You look fab even without a head.
Did you find anything to wear if cold? Looking at it, I think a tight little shrug would look good.

DavetheCat2001 · 13/02/2016 14:16

Thanks!

I'll try and do a pic with the dress and jacket later.

Kids are driving me mental this afternoon!

DavetheCat2001 · 13/02/2016 15:02

aww thanks Blush

My head today would let it down completely!

LadyPriggsbottom · 13/02/2016 15:33

Agree - you look fab!

DavetheCat2001 · 13/02/2016 15:44

Thanks lady

Think I'm going to have to keep accessories to a minimum as the dress demands all the attention, and I reckon I could look like a Christmas tree if not careful Grin
