extreme change of hair colour..opinions please?

ive been blonde for years but as the dark roots loom again i a: can't afford to keep having it highlighted, b: don't want to make it any more frazzled than it is. i dont particularly want to go back to my natural colour (dark, dirty brown) as its horrible and it makes me look older and washed out. ive got greeny/grey eyes and im very pale so what colour will look ok?

i have just had my hair dyed dark it was blonde but couldnt be bothered with the roots it cost too much, my natural hair colour is wishy washy brown. i have green eyes too and im quite pale.
im really pleased with my hair its now a chocolate brown with a hint of red. and its so shiny and feels in really good condition

Anything with reddy tones looks good with pale skin and green eyes (same as me!)
I sometimes dye my hair bright red too, and that looks fab! In fact, before I go back to work, I might just be tempted......

thanks...looking like it may be red (very festive). red would be different, i've never had that before. next question...i know you're not supposed to dye your own hair when its been bleached but....if i was to be very naughty and do it myself which brand is the best? (did do it once before, dark brown, colour didnt suit me but it never went green as i used a red dye first!) i cant make too much of a hash of it surely?

be careful if you go red on top of bleach - twill go PINK! (and not in a good way)

I'm back to my natural (dark ) blonde after years and years of different red shades. I really miss it actually, but as my hair is long and I am getting on, it was quite high maintenance.

its not totally bleached...its highlighted bleach, sort of a golden blonde colour (although mucho faded) and slightly darker underneath. that wouldnt go pink would it? i hope

i go from blonde to brunette with seasons usually. now it is winter and very 'now' apparently, i am brunette again. i cant afford, neither can i be bothered to keep up with the blasted regrowth.
although brunette makes me look 27 rather than 23!

I had a brown base with caramel and blonde hightlights through, and on monday i had it done with a chestnut brown base and copper and red highlights, totally different,but I love it.

I have to bleach my hair baby blonde to get the bright red - I hasn't ever gone pink so (IMO!) you should be ok going red over the top.
