Boots for big calves that are cheaper than Duo. Please help

Went to Clarks today, and saw a wonderful pair of boots in the sale. I took myself off to a private corner to try them on, but I almost had an aneurysm attempting to pull the zip up. I have average sized feet (37) and normal ankles, but I have calves like parma hams. I have a pair of Duo boots that I rarely wear, as they crinkle round the ankle. I know there have been threads about this before, but I need someone with large calves to give me a personal recommendation. Can you get the leg bit of boots stretched? If so, where do you get it done?

Have you tried buying boots from Evans ??

Because thy sell clothes for the sizes 16-32 they actually realise that people do have larger calfs and sell boots to fit.

They have loads in the sale at the moment.

Or try The Shoe Tailor

I bought a pair of boots from select, actually, andf they fit perfectly. I have freaky footballer legs.

Thanks, fussymummy, I'll try Evans. I hadn't thought of them. Colditz, what is select? Do they have an online store? Thanks.

Not sure what size you are but lush shoes starts at a size 7, and does nice wide calves. I bought some that were actually a little bit too wide on me, but great for with longer skirts.
