Come and tell me about your breast enlargement?

Have finally, after 25 years, taken the plunge and am having this done on 19 February. I'd have it done right now if I could, I'm so excited!

My boobs have always been small, but breastfeeding 4 dc, not to mention age, has taken its toll and they are horrible withered little things. Sorry if anyone's about to eat :)

I haven't told a soul, except dh (and now the www I suppose!) and am not planning to either. Does anyone have any experiences/tips they'd like to share?

What size are you moving to?

Probably a DD but there's a pre-op session two weeks before to finalise that. I'm not skinny so think a dd will be proportionate but am happy to be guided by the surgeon.

I had a boob job in December! I didn't go very big - from a b cup to a small d/full c. They are much improved & I'm glad I had it done, they look v.natural & not obvious - not many people in rl know & no one has guessed who hasn't been told.

Because you think your friends don't notice just because they don't say "ooh, you've had a boob job" :)

I have plenty of friends who have had boob jobs but I have never been so indiscrete as to say anything!

I went from a 32A to a 32E - yes, people noticed but few commented! I am happy most of the time. They're difficult to dress, make me look larger than I am overall and I underestimate their reach at times!! However, they're very perky, I don't need to wear a bra and look much nicer than the saggy empty breasts I had after breastfeeding two children. Ten years on now.

bean - congratulations! Were you in much discomfort afterwards? How long were you in for? I'm hoping it will be just one night for me.

Bobo I think my friends probably will notice but, with any luck, won't say anything. If you knew me you'd realise I'm the least likely candidate for a boob job as I'm not too bothered by how I look, so I'm hoping they'll think they're imagining things! I'm planning to liehedge around any questions asked.

I had mine done in 2007 - it all went fine and I've never looked back.

A couple of my friends do talk about their boob jobs and are quite happy to parade and discuss their new curves. But most women seem to want you to humour the pretence that they were made that way :)

I went from an A to a D, I dress carefully and generally keep them covered up, but in swim wear and underwear the difference is amazing. It felt more like corrective surgery than cosmetic surgery to be honest, my body is now in proportion, and the boobs that nature forgot to provide were added by a surgeon! It was more sore than painful, but it was about 4 weeks til I was back to normal routine. Hoovering was out the question for a while!

That's how I feel Petal - cheated out of boobs to match my hips! And no hoovering you say? Better and better! I'm so excited.

Those of you who have had yours done, how long roughly until you were able to use your arms normally?? Ie. Picking up baby/toddler

I couldn't mash potatoes or use a cork screw for a few weeks either! Just something to bear in mind ....

My only regret is that I waited til I was 37 to have the surgery. I should have done it far sooner, rather than waste so many occasions hiding my body in shame. I feel normal now, and it's been really good for me.

I couldn't put the wheelie bins out for a few weeks either (I couldn't move them when they were full) and it was a few weeks before I could drive. I had my implants over the muscles (rather than under) so whilst my muscles weren't moved or cut during surgery, there was still quite a lot of healing to be done.

It took longer than I thought to get used to them, they take a while to settle in and do look a bit odd and unnatural at first. I loved buying new underwear that fitted properly but now it's a pain and expensive! Wear your sports bra all day, every day and night for as long as they tell you to, it does make a difference to their final shape. I think it was about a month before I felt normal again, when I first woke up it felt like an elephant was sat on my chest! Good luck with your surgery.

Thank you Banana. I think they said I have to wear a sports bra for three months which seems like a long time but if that's what they say then that's what I'll do! Have taken note of what you say about first waking up from surgery too - I guess that might have been worrying for you.

I had mine done 4 years ago after kids and breastfeeding and they look fab and so so natural. No one can guess. Really no one. I was a C before now I'm a DD and they slipped just a little bit, don't look stuck on. Had a wonderful surgeon who has a superb eye and persuaded me to go larger in keeping with my body proportions than what I wanted.

I was in Miami recently, sans kids and with a cut out bathing suit and slashed bikini and I fitted in perfectly I also had a tummy tuck and my lips done but very subtly, gosh it sounds terrible on paper but I assure you it looks super natural, just better than the original. I frequently get carded and no one believes I have had 4 babies

Go for it, you'll love them. Strictly no housework for 2 weeks at least and no picking up toddlers or babies for a month I'd suggest. I started doing too much too early and it took longer to recover.

Take some papaya and pineapple extract and arnica c200 to help you deal with swelling!!

Keep a soft bra on for at least 3 months and generally do not go without a bra if you can. The implants are heavier than real boobs and will sag if you go without support. Look after your new babies!! Wishing you all the best for your surgery.

I went for round ones as teardrops can turn and twist btw. I had it done in Harley Street. Really fab fab doc.

Have a look at House of CB dresses and skirts and tops. You'll look amazing and they fit so so well

Buttercup can you tell me about your tummy tuck please? Sorry to hijack the thread but I'm aiming to have one in early July and would like to know about recovery as the internet varies wildly. Hoping to be back up and sorted by the summer holidays.

Would you say implants are the only option to fix saggy, deflated boobs? I've got so much excess skin from pregnancy, bf and weight loss. I don't want 'em bigger, just not pointing down...

Hi lamp, I had mine done in US, they paid everything except anaesthesia so brilliant. It took a long time to recover. 6 weeks of sleeping on sofa half upright. Couldn't open a bottle of milk or hold a full cup of tea. Absolutely no strength in abdominal muscles.

Had tubes in pelvis mound for 4 weeks, squeezing it out and noting ml for doc every week. Gross
