Long-sleeved, long-legged cotton pyjamas that don't shrink! Why is it so difficult???

You'd think it would be easy to find something so basic, right? Nope.

I struggle to find pjs that are long enough to start with (I'm tall, but not that tall). Most of the pairs I look at in the shops are half-mast and look ridiculous on me.

I've had three pairs that have gone from being borderline long enough in the leg to being somewhere up near my knees after a few washes. Next and Monsoon pairs, so not exactly cheap (all washed at 40°, no tumble drying, so exactly as per the instructions). A Next pair I bought in the autumn hasn't shrunk (but they're viscose), but the quality is shocking and I've had to get the sewing machine out on them twice to make repairs where fabric is fraying at seams and hems.

So where can I get long-sleeved, long-legged pjs that actually stay long and won't drop to bits? (Preferably cotton. Size 10)

My Long Tall Sally pyjama trousers are he only ones that haven't shrunk. I'm 5ft 11 so need extra length to keep the ankles warm. I've had one pair for more than 10 years and they are invincible Grin.

My m and s pj's have shrunkSad the top is still perfect but the bottoms are about 5 inches shorter than they were. I'm gutted as they were perfect...

I bought these from next in the long length to allow for shrinkage. I'm not quite 5'5". After a few washes they are like capri pants on me. They must have shrunk about 6 inches in length.

I have this problem too!

I'm 5' 10" so struggle to find pjs that don't shrink. I asked for White Company pjs as a present and they are serving me very well; no shrinkage after a year.

Where do we stand re. returning things that have shrunk? If you follow the care label instructions, it's not unreasonable to expect that your clothes stay the same size as when you bought them. Do shops have to take them back? They're not fit for purpose imo.

I was wondering the same thing MamehaSan.

I've got some from Next and Cath Kidston (in the sale) that haven't shrunk.

I spend most of my time in pyjamas because I've got a painful disability, and I know people scoff, but you can't go far wrong with Primark pyjamas. They're usually £5 for a pair of 100% cotton bottoms and it's very, very rare that they shrink.
