Has anyone else had a problem with Zara online shopping. Items going from in stock to out of stock whilst they are in my basket?

This has happened to me twice now. I put a girl's coat in my basket this morning. I then took about 10 minutes more looking through the other sale items in case there was something else to buy. I added a few other small bits and even viewed my basket in between and the coat was not showing as out of stock. When then when I went back to my basket to see everything I had added and to pay, it was showing as out of stock.

Do they not have a system that prevents someone else buying the item whilst it is in my basket? Am I supposed to check out after every item I put in my basket? I have never had this with any other retailer in yet this has happened to me once before with Zara. Has it happened to anyone else? I'm annoyed to lose the coat and also to have wasted time, as I did not want the other items enough to go through with that purchase.

Also, if anyone knows anywhere else I can get a girl's khaki parka for a 13 year old please link me. Thank you.

I don't think any shops reserve the items in the basket until they are paid for. I have had it before with various retailers during the sales as things sell very quickly.

I think there's usually a time limit. If you have it in your basket too long, the items then go from your basket. But I don't know that for sure.

This JUST happened to me….. Zara sale so going a bit nuts. Had a whole bunch of items in my basket for my holiday and on checkout, half are gone !! It’s a piss take. I spent time going through all of there sale items (which takes forever!) just to add items in, and then someone else is able to swipe them!

Some websites reserve your basket for you (I know ASOS is two hours) but Zara are one of those who don’t.

I've had this m&s they actually took the payment, then refunded me as it was out of stock, twice this happened.

When shopping from Zara, try to refresh your basket page again and again! Some items come back in a few hours or days. Also this may sound weird, but sometimes when you refresh the page, one item comes back, the second time you refresh that one is gone and another one comes back. And then each time you refresh the page, thos two items switch! In my opinion, the best way for buying from Zara on sale, is purchasing whatever you want, immediately, then choosing delivery to their closets store to you, as delivery to their store is free and they keep the items for 15 days for you. So, you can buy one by one without paying delivery fee again and again. And later you can collect all the items at once from their store and also can wear and check the size, so if you need to refund, you can just refund them the same time at store.
