i.e. me? I'm quite old though 40 - would I look too sad for words?

Something like this? Please be nice - I genuinely have no taste so always go for safe options.

About 5 ft 7 very slim and I guess a casual style, if you could remotely call it that.

Lucy I'd love to wear a pinafore but I'm 32 G so think they'd not suit me one bit. But in my dreams I'd wear them with a breton or white 3/4 sleeve or long sleeved top, a camel coloured cardy, navy wooly tights and tan ankle boots :)

I bought a burgundy pinafore dress from ASOS to go with roll neck jumpers.

I look like a butcher in it.

Time I have those fantasy thoughts of looking good too! I'm jealous of your size being a bit lightweight on top. But obviously there are things that would suit you that I can only wear in my imagination too. The navy woolly tights would certainly come in handy right now!

Go for it OP. Lovely dress. I've dithered over a similar one in Topshop.

Hasn't this come up before, quite recently? I guess 'cos the shops have lots of them at the moment. Here's one such thread .

Anyway, I'm mid forties and wear one. I also wear dungaree style playsuits (with opaques) so not known for a grown-up style anyway!

I'm going to go against the grain and say no. It's a little girls dress.
