which of these do you reckon would be the nicest?

Stylish best friend has a 40th birthday coming up and I want to send her something special.

Is a nice purse/wallet special? I dunno. I either keep my cash down my bra or in my jeans pocket.

TIA

I qualify in terms of age but not very stylish!
I wouldn't give a purse - it's a personal thing - I know loads of people who are terribly fussy about whether it has a zip or a clasp, space for credit cards or not...etc etc.
The gloves look nice.
Why not choose something from John Lewis - then if she doesn't like it she can change it.

but JL has so much.... and I have so little time to trawl through it

what would you like to recieve from JL?

I'm totally hopeless at knowing what I'd like!

If I had to choose a present for myself, there's a little shop in Kings Langley, Herts that sells a lovely range of Baltic Amber jewellery. It's not too expensive - eg a little amber heart on a silver chain is £18.75.

Amber is one of those things that most people seem to like - I've got a beatiful brooch that my dad bought for me some years ago - it's got little teardrop shaped pieces of amber in it and whenever I wear it people comment on how lovely it is.

That's probably no help at all!

Glennclose, I like the bureau stuff - my mate is an architect so that kind of thing is good - but she would for something slightly less modern and more kind of Fabian Society bound books IYKWIM, anyone got any links?
