Can you find me some wide leg boots that don't look like wellies?

I need long black (?) boots for work to wear with a dress and jacket. I have wide calves; but is that really punishable by having to wear boots that look like wellies??

I like kind of casual smart styles...DMs/merrell I have had (before wideness set in)

Really prefer leather and I think it has to be black (does it?) but they all look wellies like

I was going to say not expensive, but am now at the point that I would pay a fair bit, if I can find what I need

You could try Duo boots?. I haven't worn them personally, but have a friend who swears by them.

Gabor boots come in wide calf without the horribly elastic panel. There are some on sale on Amazon just now.

for example

thisame sorry that was a cross post I wasn't getting at your link Blush

Have you tried Evans? Their boots are wide legged.

fluffypenguinbelly · 08/01/2016 22:37

I was going to suggest Evans. I'm a size 12 but have lower legs the size of rugby balls.

LagoonaBlu · 08/01/2016 23:42

Oooo...thanks, for all the suggestions
I have tried Clark's, but didn't like any of them in real life
Loving the Ted and Muffy boots though moonlight; difficult to choose my favourite!

Also like the Gabor ones and off to look at Evans

How do you find these???

I bought these 2 years ago, the first pair of 'normal' boots that have ever fitted my calves. I also have Gabor Millicent for more dressed up days.

Asda leather rider boots

Try simply be.. They have loads of boots in different widths. Good luck, I have the same problem as you and totally sympathise

I got some from M&S. I've just tried to find them but they are out of stock. They had a number that were wide fitting around the calves.

NNalreadyinuse · 09/01/2016 16:09

I found some in m&s. Not leather, but they are mid height and look like suede. Only £55. They go over my chunky legs and are close fitting so no welly gape!

cressetmama · 09/01/2016 19:50

Ilse Jacobsen. They are wellies, but lovely and not in elegant/

SixtyFootDoll · 09/01/2016 19:55

I have the same problem, with chunky calves.
I got these from Moshulu, not sure if they are a bit frumpy, but was able to do them all the way up.
They give calf measurement online.
