I have high-heeled, long brown sexy boots which I love. I haven't worn a skirt for 20 years. I am size 12. I am crap at shopping for me. What length skirt would a person look stylish in these boots please?

Thanking you!

more info needed.
how old are you?
how are your hips/waist/thigh proportions?
how adventurous are you wanting to be?

and where are malory, mrs badger and anniemac when their services are required.

didn't we used to have a style shop for things like this? did it start selling catalogue seconds and then go out of business?

Kbear · 14/12/2006 19:49

I am 38. 5' 4''. Slim but pearshaped I guess.

I want to look classy and elegant for work but not too overdressed IYKWIM. Also want a skirt or dress that will take me on a night on the tiles, again classy but less officey.

Budget small (why is my budget small when I have spent loads on everyone else? - must sort that out in the new year!!).

I really need ideas as I have no confidence at all when it comes to picking up clothes to try on. I need a mate to bully me when i shop I think. This is why I have trouser suits for work and jeans when I'm home.

help...

Might be worth having a look at this thread for some possibles. Do you fancy a longer or knee length one, do you think? And is the 'night on the tiles' one a separate item, or the same thing?

JackieNoHoHo · 14/12/2006 19:55

And if it's a separate item, does the 'night on the tiles' thing need to go with the brown boots too?

chocolaterobin · 14/12/2006 19:56

Next directory have some nice shirt type dresses that imo look fab with long boots?

Kbear · 14/12/2006 19:57

two separate things

One officey one and one for hitting the town should I have any strength left next Friday after nativities, carol services, work, cleaning, decking the halls, shopping, wrapping, buying skirts etc etc etc

yes, both to go with the brown boots!

I bought a wrap dress that goes fab with them and I felt great but attracted far too much attention at work, as in "ooooh, Kbear's got a legs, she's got a dress on, oooooh". Which made me not want to wear it ever again but I figure if I keep wearing it they will stop noticing and I can fall back into the shadows where I belong!

Anyone know where you can buy some self confidence too, while we're here?

Nork status? (ie, generous, or challenged?) Makes a difference if you fancy buying a dress.

JackieNoHoHo · 14/12/2006 20:03

Some gorgeous skirts here - I love loads of them.

Kbear · 14/12/2006 20:05

Norks - medium!

You need an A-line skirt that sits just below the knee. If you have good tits, look for an empire line knee length dress. There are heaps around at the mo.

Kbear · 14/12/2006 20:57

that sounds good choc, thanks, I will go on a mission to find one.
