Can you twist your hair round the straightners? Actually it would be hard I would think, not to burn yourself

Yes, thats what I am scared of. There is some way of doing it without having to wind it round the hair straighteners, but I can't figure it out. I think Nailpolish knows how.

aha! i do this

dont wrap around the straighteners

put some spray like volumising spray on your hair (v important for hold),
before its bone dry put the straighteners at the top of the hair (like, near the scalp end),
while you drag the straighteners along the hair shaft to the tip of the hair,
kind of TWIST your straighteners round and round, big wrist movements, slowly,
dont wrap around the straighteners, its a wrist-twisty motion.

the secret is hairspray, when hair is almost cool from the straighteners spray with elnett

DO NOT run fingers through hair when hot/warm, tease very gently if you have to

(im very crappy at describing this arent i? would be easier to show you)

dont spray the vol spray over hair in one go, pick up strand of hair you are about to 'do', spray that, then when youve twisted that strand move onto next one, spray, etc etc

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/12/2006 14:11

Do you mean, instead of dragging them down straight, you pull down the hair increasing the angle you are holding the straighteners as you go?

FiveGoldenFIMBOIDs · 14/12/2006 14:13

I've got it now! God how thick of me, I have been sitting here for days trying to work it out.

Ta NP.

er no

use to hands and wind the straighteners as you pull down the hair

so you are curling the hair, but not wrapping it round the straighteners or holding the straighteners in one place and curling it, you are curling it with 2 hands whilst pulling it down the shaft

FiveGoldenFIMBOIDs · 14/12/2006 14:14

Yes, its the straighteners that are being twisted.

Yes - that is what i meant - oddly enough - have seen it done but with curling tongs rather than straighteners

nailpolish · 14/12/2006 14:19

lol vvv

it comes out different with straighteners strangely
