She's had a few inches lopped off and looks well for it. Face looks younger. How?!

Making me tempted to chop off my own, at the moment its waist length. I'm reluctant to cut my hair because I know it will start going grey one day and will need maintenance....has anybody else cut years off their face through a hair cut?

Oh and as for her hair...it's okay, but I preferred it longer TBH, it's kind of in that shoulder length 'nothingy' place right now.

Bakeoffcake · 11/12/2015 09:37

I think the new hair cut is fab, much nicer than when it was longer.

I loved the pictures of her and William together at the office charity event. They really do look happy, they should do more stuff together.

xSummerStarsx putting eyeliner on the waterline makes the eye appear smaller. Especially if your eyes aren't huge to start with. If I use eyeliner on my eyes I usually put some on/under the lashline instead. Makes all the difference.

Another problem with Kate's eyeliner is that it just looks like a harsh black ring. She needs to get blending!

The last time she did something really dramatic to her hair (the first -short-lived fringe), she announced her first pregnancy very shortly afterwards.

xSummerStarsx · 11/12/2015 11:15

Wow, I must've been going wrong all these years.

I like the khol, darker smoky eyed look for nights out though! I'm not wearing eyeliner today and I do feel a bit naked...am trying to see whether I look younger....hard to tell really.

squoosh · 11/12/2015 11:22

Ah I should have said that eyeliner on the waterline can look great, and I sometimes do that too when I'm off out for a night of revellery.

Kate's main problem is that she wears too much of it and doesn't seem to blend it.

squoosh · 11/12/2015 11:29

A bit like Shirley from Eastenders.....

LOL!!! No, I never look like that, thankfully! Mine is only subtle and as I always put a bit of mascara on my bottom lashes, it kinda blends in to that to be honest.

Truckingalong · 11/12/2015 16:42

The shorter hair has aged her in an instant.

pretend · 11/12/2015 16:46

White eyeliner on the waterline and black liquid liner on top is the bizz.

Makes your eyes look big and sparkly.

SeasonalVag · 11/12/2015 16:51

I have tiny pissholes....would love advice...at the moment I do nude on waterline, black above lashes and a fair bit of mascara....but still have piggy eyes sigh

Do you blend your eyeshadow palette properly? I find YouTube tutorials really useful

LonelySatsuma · 11/12/2015 16:59

I dont like her new do. She doesn't suit a fringe at all. I also preferred the slightly lighter, balyage-ey hair colour she had before. The new colour looks like a box of Loreal medium brown Hmm.

She looks fab, anyway. Pretty lady.

But def preferred her hair before.

itsbetterthanabox · 12/12/2015 20:46

She doesn't look any younger. What is it you think looks younger about her? Personally I thought the longer hair was very pretty.
An actual above the shoulders proper Bob would suit her. Best without a fringe but maybe a full fringe might be nice. The chunky side fringe is strange. I'm surprised such good hairdressers have done this twice!
She always looks much older than her years imo. I'm shocked she's only early thirties! Not that it matters how old one looks though.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/12/2015 20:58

She looks tired at the moment and it's no flipping wonder.

CreviceImp · 12/12/2015 20:59

I think she is a good looking woman who is overly cautious with her make-up. I agree she needs to knock back the depth of the eyeliner and wear rosier/plum lipsticks. Balance it out and forget this lips or eyes shite mantra- she is reasonably high contrast in her colouring and her make-up needs to match.

Personally I think the Queen Letizia bob would look fantastic on her rather than the meh length it is currently. I don't think the red/gold tone in her hair is working with her colouring and she would suit light ash brown tones better.

itsbetterthanabox · 12/12/2015 22:14

Fluffy why is it no flipping wonder she's tired?

Wishful80smontage · 12/12/2015 22:17

Her hair looked so much better longer and when it had some lighter tones running through it- she rely does have beautiful hair.
Now very dull style, length colour boring and ageing IMO.

polyhymnia · 13/12/2015 00:21

But I thought the previous, extension y style even more boring - agree a proper modern Bob would be much better.

looki · 13/12/2015 00:36

These photos aren't the most flattering - I think a shorter bouncier bob would be amazing on her. She is naturally pretty but I think looks so much older than her age.

ChipsandGuac · 13/12/2015 00:37

She has a drinkers forehead which I find a bit worrying. Maybe that's why the fringe.

squoosh · 13/12/2015 00:41

I'd imagine it's more likely due to sunbathing and cigarettes.

ChipsandGuac · 13/12/2015 00:44

Ssshhhhhh! I was just hoping the DM would read it and print a story next week, "Is Kate drinking?" Wink

IShouldBeSoLurky · 13/12/2015 11:32

She is so pretty but she looks absolutely exhausted and deffo older than she is. I wonder if she usually has a bit of Botox but has stopped because she's breastfeeding?
