Blonde to Ombre/bronde balayage hair

I currently have long bleach highlighted hair. It has been blonde for as long as I can remember and is a bit like my security blanket.

I'm just really bored of it and really want to try going darker- but I'm very nervous.

Has anyone else done this and.do.you regret it
My hair is really straight and I'm worried it will look lank as most pictures of bronde hair are loosely curled which i won't realistically be able to do everyday

Thanks

I always had long blonde hair but I went ombre last year and I've never looked back! It makes my eyes stand out more and (I think) makes me look more relaxed and not 'try-hard'.

If you're worried about your hair being too straight maybe you could try a salt spray to give your hair some volume, or sleeping in a sock bun to put waves in your hair? (disclaimer: I haven't tried those)

I have long thick hair. My hairdresser refused to do balayage highlighting on it because its straight without lots of layers. She said it will look rubbish unless the hair has lots of layers and is curled. It will look stripey and the stripes will suddenly start in random places (rather than coming from the roots).

I decided not to bother even though all the photos on pinterest look lovely.

I have had normal ombre on it in the past and that was fine but its had its day now IMO.

Atticus I have long thick hair and balayage def looked best and most natural... So few hairdressers do it well though!

I think that's half the problem, They're a bit scared of it because it involves more skill in working out how the hair falls etc.

I have balayage and love it too. I m mid blonde. Only thing I find is I need regular toner to tone down the ends as I did have it very blonde a while ago and it s growing out.

I've found somewhere that specialises in it but is a small fortune so I want to be sure. My existing hairdresser is good for standard highlights but I don't trust her with this (that sounds terrible)
