Hello all, haven't posted here before, but hoping for some advice! I am attending DH's work christmas "do" with him and foolishly agreed to let hinm choose what I wear ... (Heavy sigh, enough said!) He wants me to wear chiffony type blouse which means bra is clearly visible underneath . I think I'll look like a hooker. He says I'm being prudish. What do people think??

No links I'm afraid, blouse is little bit ruffled down the front, from the neck to about half way down, which could add a bit of disguise, bra would be anonymous plain type. Don't usually (ever?) let him choose outfit, but he said he wanted me to look "feminine" , so I said OK, you choose, as great waves of apathy were sloshing over me at the thought of it all! Obviously now have deep regrets...

You let him choose something - did you say you'd wear it?

Wear a strappy black lycra vest under the blouse. That's what I would do. You can get them in M&S and they have nork support.

Agree M&S vest with nork support is a good plan (get the proper one with underwires and padded cups - they're an arse to get into but really are as good as a bra)

Chiffony blouse is dull blue/green colour and rather prim, that's why I thought maybe could get away with visible bra. (But you're right, FlameinEck, I never said I'd wear it!) Will investigate strappy vests though I know this won't go down well with DH as he wants to see some skin, complains I'm too covered up most of the time ... more heavy sighs!

You can't show 'skin' at his office party .

Bra is fine as long as it is the same colour as the blouse and fancy,or a nude coloured one.

Also helps if you're not too chunky.

I would wear a camisole top the same colour as the top and a bra.

Do you, Moondog? Why should bra be fancy - just to look nice? Sorry, am bit of a beginner in the amending one's appearance to please the DH line of things ...
