Brands for that awkward age - too tall for kids clothes, too small or unsuited to adult sizes

DD is ten, 11 in a few months, but has always had clothes several years older than her age due to her height. She has grown out of Next Kids and sometimes find Tesco bits in the 13-14 age range and she fits Uniqlo adult size 6 cropped jeggings. Next petite just seems too scary and grown up for her. I know it is is only a problem for a short while but all suggestions for every day clothes that she can still be a young girl in would be most welcome! She likes the odd dress for a special occasion but is more a skirt with leggings type of girl most days. Thank you.

Johnnie B from Boden? DD (a tall 11) gets most stuff from New Look.

dementedpixie · 23/11/2015 21:54

Next does clothes up to age 16 online

titchy · 23/11/2015 22:01

H&M kids goes up to 15.

homebythesea · 23/11/2015 22:14

Jack wills, topshop starts at size 4, next petite jeans and trousers not scary, just normal! Uniqlo are great for knitwear

Thanks for the suggestions, will try with Next online, but DD would prefer to be in a real shop trying things on. We've been in H&M Bluewater and couldn't find much, but will try again, maybe we were unfortunate for that visit.

New Look generation 9-15 - some nice stuff there.

Dd age 12 likes H&M too.

QueenCardi · 23/11/2015 22:38

Zara goes up to 14 I think. Gap also although I'm not sure what age they go up to in store.

vanillabeauty · 23/11/2015 22:45

Miss selfridge also do a size 4.

burnishedsilver · 23/11/2015 23:12

Hollister.

Second the New Look 9-15 range. If she sees something that she likes but is not quite right eg colour, have a look on line for more choices.

Also Matalan and Bhs can throw up the odd nice piece. H&M is variable at the moment.

ChippyMinton · 24/11/2015 06:29

Primark also worth a look, adults and older girls ranges.

patterkiller · 24/11/2015 06:40

Dd wore a lot of New Look and Primark. Lots of stuff with stretch in it, I swear she was growing inches through the night at that stage.

Higge · 24/11/2015 07:32

H&M mostly but looking forward to adult small sizes because dd is very skinny but we still need a good length. Adult size 4 sounds perfect.
