I remember a thread raving about this coat a while back..anyone got it? Tried it on yesterday ( sorry.hopeless with links!) and needing a gentle push to spend the 99pounds! My only worry is it's probably not an every day coat..quite smartish??..and therefore I wouldn't get the wear out of it...oh decisions..decisions..will it go in the sale?..hmm.....

oh, it was lush!

WHEELYbahhumBUG · 10/12/2006 18:28

I have a red coat from M&S - autograph - with a 'funny' neck ?

I bought it as I am a SAHM so don't have much need for a smart coat but was going to a posh do so needed one and wanted one that was 'different'. Am v pleased with it but have only worn it once.

I would have worn it every day though when I worked.

WHEELYbahhumBUG · 10/12/2006 18:29

winniewoo · 10/12/2006 18:31

I am SAHM too and probably don't really have an excuse to wear it but was with my Mum when I tried it on..and she egged me on saying " You'll wear it for years to come and because you love it you'll make yourself wear it..blah..blah".....but not so convinced bu it's so NICE!!!!

I think if you have one occasion to wear it,it'd be worth getting... and then you'll always have a smart coat in the cupboard.....

that was my reasoning anyway...

MrsMillsletoe · 10/12/2006 18:33

It is gorgeous, but why couldn't you wear it everyday?

WHEELYbahhumBUG · 10/12/2006 18:35

I think you could wear it every day as a SAHM if you wear say boots rather than trainers in the day like me. Then I find a parker goes better.

moondog · 10/12/2006 18:38

That's a lovely coat.
Also looks far more expensive than it is.

MrsMillsletoe · 10/12/2006 18:39

I suppose it wouldn't look to great with trainers, best stick with boots then, because it is a beautiful coat, and I imagine it would always make you look gorg even if you didn't feel it.

Which makes it an essential in my book.

WHEELYbahhumBUG · 10/12/2006 18:39

ooh just had a thought - didn't someone post a code for 15% off and free p&p for m&s...

does that convince you ?

WHEELYbahhumBUG · 10/12/2006 18:40

MrsM - it DOES make one feel glam. Must think of more opportunities to wear it after this conversation....

tracyk · 10/12/2006 18:42

code PCLEHZBX for 15% off and free del and do it through pigsback.com and get cashback.

MrsMillsletoe · 10/12/2006 18:42

everyday will be an opportunity, trust me.

winniewoo · 10/12/2006 18:57

You lot are just great! Thanks for the code and yes..that does make it very tempting!
Trust me..to all that have not tried this coat..you put it on and you instantly feel glam and the red is so wintry and a bit different! Here's me trying to convince everyone else now so thanks......I am off to get my already red hot visa out..(grin)

Monkeytrousers · 10/12/2006 19:37

I wish I could afford it - alas I can't. Cod posted it as a possible for a wedding outfit.
