Pixi Glow Tonic: what's all the fuss?

Just that really. I bought some and have been using it for the last five nights, but I haven't noticed a difference.

Should I persevere or is it not for me? (I'm 50, combination skin)

I've just had a look at Paula's Choice and they do a set of samples of the Resist Anti-aging for €3 including p&p, which seems like a great way to try it. But when I go to check out they add €14.95 shipping. So why say it has free p&p?

I've not tried that one Scandi, but I just had a look at reviews and it doesn't look like it's particularly harsh? You could probably use a mild acid toner as well, or alternate them. Sometimes I just seem to get a bit flaky and want it gone straight away, rather than from acid toning, which would be a bit more gradual. That's when I bust out the scrubby stuff!

I think it's free within the US Movember. If you want something that's fragrance (Pixi has fragrance so that might be what irritates you) AND alcohol free, Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion might be one you would like, but it is BHA only.

I messaged them, and the problem was that their system can't cope with more than one sample at a time, and I had both the Resist and Skin Recover sample set in the basket. So I did two separate orders and got free delivery. I think this is possibly the first time that something has worked out cheaper because I'm in the Eurozone (€3 for me and £3 for the UK). Grin

Thanks Nabootique, I'll give the Paula's Choice a go first and then consider the Clinique.

I'm on my third bottle of Glow Tonic (I love Lady Hirons, and I wanted to persevere), but I won't be buying it again. I'm getting close to 40 and I need something with a bit more 'oomph'.

Liquid Gold always makes my skin look good. Midnight Recovery, and the Lancome serums too. I'll look into the other things mentioned here.

Nabootique · 18/11/2015 16:42

For oomph I love the Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle Peel pads (good acid content but no alcohol - rare) and his Unwrinkle Turbo lotion stuff as a toner afterwards. I do that about three times a week at night and I'm practically foetal.

SorrelForbes · 18/11/2015 16:51

I tried it and didn't see any difference. I'm sticking with Jan Marini Bioglycolic Cleanser, it's brilliant.

Practically foetal - there's something to aim for! Grin

I didn't see any difference from the Bravura Calendula at all, for me it was a waste of money. The Clarins exfoliating toner irritates my skin. I'm using the Glow Pads atm and like them a lot, but I'll take a look at the Paula's Choice stuff now although I have an irrational dislike of her and the cosmeticscop product reviews.

Thanks for all the replies / information / chat. I think I'll finish up the bottle (£££!) and try something a little stronger next time.

I'm a week into my first bottle and my skin looks rosier but no huge difference. The clarins one made me break out so thought I'd try a gentle one. Will probably not repurchase.
