Why isn't Cover Girl available in the UK?

I find it really strange, as they sell other big American drugstore brands like Maybelline and L'Oreal but no Cover Girl. It's available in other countries such as Australia but not in the UK. Any idea why? I believe it's owned by Max Factor so some of the mascaras are supposed to be excellent.

It used to be, but sales were crap so it was withdrawn.
It just didn't really have a place in the market here.

Only place it is now sold in Europe is Switzerland (DH works for them). Yes, they stopped selling it in the UK because of what SpottedZebra said.

Strange, in the US it appears to occupy the same market as Maybelline so I wonder what made it so different here?

A lot of Maxfactor products are just CG products rebranded, so I don't think both are needed.

Expat in Switzerland here. Around here they sell the stuff at Migros, which is a supermarket, which is arguably why I've never tried it (I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to cosmetics TBH).

Never really looked that appealing to me either, if I'm honest. Are they any good?

I wouldn't buy the foundations or powders etc but their mascaras and as someone up thread said, just Max Factor at cheaper prices. Bit like how Maybelline and L'Oreal mascaras often feature the same formula as Lancôme but are half the price!

More to the point, why isn't Maybelline full n soft mascara? It used to be.

L'Oréal is FRENCH, not American.
