What's the deal with all the synthetic coats??

I don't need a new coat but have been hankering for a grey coat.
My budget can stretch to the upper end of the high street, but I have discovered that so many of the coats, while quite expensive, have a really low wool content. Just spotted one I really like from mint velvet but it's only 30 something per cent wool and the rest synthetic, for £199...

Anyone else really sick of all the polyester?

Synthetic fibres have been taking over clothes you'd except to be more natural for a few years; seemingly in all price brackets. Land's End are good for wool coats though, and usually have quite a lot of stuff in Clearance.

Just say no! I got a nice coat from M&S this year, and it had a high wool content.

My tip is to shop the summer sales on department store websites. I got a lovely MaxMara coat from the House of Fraser website for £150; last winter's range, 100% wool.

Jaeger are good for wool coats too.

Yes! And not just coats - this drives me crazy.

Practically, jigsaw is also good for high wool content, though they only have a couple of grey coats this season. Agree with maxmara also, if you can afford it.

There are a few grey coats 100% wool on the Jaeger Outlet site mentioned on this thread
