Does such a thing exist? Tasteful Christmas Jumper?

The shops are slowly filling with the festive supply of Christmas Jumpers .
But I want something a bit less lairy, no unfestive colours (grey, pink, teal, lime green are not IMHO, Christmassy)

I really want something dark green or red, navy or black with some gold.

Needs to be a finer knit (Hot Flushes) and suitable for my age (49) and not too ££ because at the end of the day, it's a Christmas Jumper not couture.

So...............does it exist?
TIA
Xmas Grin

BHS have a really nice cream jumper with red reindeers on it.

Autumn2014 · 22/10/2015 09:49

I need a maternity style Christmas jumper and this year if anyone has any links. Would prefer something tasteful, rather than a jokey 'christmas pud in the oven ' type pun.

specialsubject · 22/10/2015 10:29

a tasteful Christmas jumper is a contradiction in terms! you want max patterns, colours and so on.

no-one ever wears the thing for more than five minutes, anyway - they aren't practical for outdoors and too hot for indoors.

Collectif fan here. This one is available in green or navy:

M&S I have seen this instore and it is lovely.

NeverNic · 22/10/2015 12:55

Just came on to say Tk maxx.

123Jump · 22/10/2015 13:22

That M&S one is lovely, I tried it on yesterday. But I would say it is quite warm, and no good if you are in any way tall, which I am.

MumOfTheMoment · 22/10/2015 13:27

No it was too short for me too but I am tall and have a long torso and struggle to find jumpers that fit nicely anyway Sad

Autumn2014 · 22/10/2015 13:44

Asda have jumper dresses in their winter / Christmas range

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/10/2015 13:49

Thanks for the eBay link Poosey, I have just ordered the penguin one. Not even slightly subtle but I like it Grin.

Autumn2014 - have you looked at the swing dresses? They are really more tunic tops than dresses & might be good with a bump? They don't all have festive penguins on Wink.

Hoppinggreen · 22/10/2015 13:54

Last year I got a lovely lightweight grey one with a tasteful deer on it with a few sequins from Next,
Maybe they will do something similar this year

thunderbird69 · 22/10/2015 14:11

This one is nice, but ending very soon!! [http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Womens-fluffy-Christmas-Snowflake-jumper-/201450665849?hash=item2ee7653779:g:wN0AAOSw~bFWIkmy]

Foxypaws70 · 22/10/2015 15:31

Topshop usually do a couple of lovely ones, and Next usually do some long-sleeved top versions that are cheaper and cooler (temperature-wise).

pebbletime · 22/10/2015 15:49

apparently, ds would like a jumper 'like Ron's in Harry Potter'.

I cant knit.

anyone know where I could find one, inexpensively?

(sorry, slightly related to thread as I was asking him about a 'Christmas Jumper')

LetTilikumGo · 22/10/2015 16:09

I like this one with robins on, it's fairly subtle.

The more tasteless the better ... If you are going to do something, you might as well do it properly!

Postchildrenpregranny · 22/10/2015 18:50

Isn't the whole point of Christmas jumpers that they are tacky/tasteless ? In fact the tackier and more tasteless the better? Think Bridget Jones

Cocolepew · 22/10/2015 19:00

Asda had some, tiny gingerbread men and something else I cant remember!

Boo. try again

thefutureofpolitics · 22/10/2015 19:06

Yes Postchildrenpregranny, absolutely! Smile Personally, I can't wait to wear something incredibly tacky this Christmas. I might go all out and don the most kitsch jumper I can find, set it off with some antlers and drape myself in tinsel! Wink

ouryve · 22/10/2015 19:11

If you go for cheap, you tend to get acrylic, which doesn't mix especially well with hot flushes!

Debenhams have some cute ones, worth a look. Rather like these robins (but no way is that model a 32C! I thought Debenhams fitted bras properly.)

These penguins are cute, too
