My Dh bought his from a golfing store. He was very pleased and said they were cheaper than the bikers shop.

www.hein-gericke.com

They have a shop in Glasgow

Agree golf trousers are the thing for cheap waterproofing (eg over leathers), but a pair of proper bike trousers will be much comfier and give much more protection.

I haven't looked very hard for cheap ones particularly, but something along these with CE rated knee pads is the way to go - am sure you'll find them cheaper elsewhere.

I am evangelical about wearing proper kit - DH came off a couple of years ago and the paramedic said if he'd been wearing normal jeans rather than bike trousers he'd have lost a lot of blood and possibly a leg.

get proper kit
you can get kevlar lined waterproof proper motorcycle trousers and jackets
Ny dh does 700 miles a week, his gear is fab, cost a bomb mind you

these sound good if he's not too tall (or has boots), - these are longer.
Free ads in local newspapers often have them too.

They will be waterproof, that's what the Twin Skin system is about. They're actually quite nice ones - rrp about £80 .
Good Christmas present!

you know looking at them again I think they'd be too small. He's a 34 waist, but these trousers would need to be larger as he wears his work trousers underneath! and he's a 31" leg!

GRRR! back to the drawing board!
