A wand, one half at a time curling away from the face the spray that whole side. Then when both sides down rub argan / coconut oil in your finger tips and 'brush' out the curls with your fingers and shake them out a bit, then more hairspray to hold for the day.

A barrel wand too - 32mm

I use a large wand to get waves like this. My hair isn't as long as in the photo, but I get a nicer finish with a wand than when my hairdresser used straighteners to curl my hair. Make sure hair is really dry, section, wrap round wand and slide the wand out of the hair once hot instead of unwinding it. When you've done all your hair shake it our and tease into place! Voilà!

I have the babylis pro perfect curl. It is honestly wonderful, so easy to use. I have tried everything to get curls in the past. This is the only thing I have tried that works. The curls even stay in overnight!

Ok, thanks, any barrel /tong recommendations for a 32mm product (I'd love to try but can't afford the perfect curl) -

I have a Nume, you have to buy it from US, you can get codes that take it down to about £40 inc the shipping. It is raved about on Youtube (but I am skeptical and think they are probably sponsored reviews) but I love mine!

LittleRedSparke · 15/10/2015 14:37

where did you get the codes from?

Chicinwellies · 15/10/2015 14:53

Amonsterinparis what wand do you use?

Someone else posted this exact picture on another thread asking for advice. One poster said the trick for waves is to get a wand with an oval, rather that round barrel, as advised by her hairdresser.

WhyDoesGastonBark · 15/10/2015 15:09

Followed them on facebook and they post them from time to time

Chicinwellies · 15/10/2015 17:09

Ah ok. Searching 32mm wands and the oval thingy with interest. And then giving up if these don't work

Wow your hair is a gorgeous colour if its like that pic!

AMonsterInParis · 15/10/2015 17:44

OP, it's just a cheapo babyliss wand but big barrelled with it being wider near the handle ans narrower at the other end. I'll try to link when I'm on the laptop later. Gets up to about 240 degrees so really hot. Cost about £25 I think.
