OK, I have to think of things for dh to give me, not only for Christmas but also my birthday which falls just after Christmas.

I am not really into this whole style thing, but I guess I could do with a new handbag as my old one is getting very worn looking and the strap is fraying. So, without going too wacky or too with it, what sort of handbag should I be looking for?

Just to give you some info about me: I am going to be 42, I no longer have small children requiring me to carry a suitcase around with me wherever I go. Indeed, I usually go for the smallest bag I can find - little more than an overgrown purse - so I don't end up carrying extraneous stuff. All I need room for is my purse, cheque book and phone, but sometimes it would be nice to fit in a bit more. I don't like bags that have to be held in the hand, so something over the shoulder would suit.

I would like to be up to date, but not really trendy. Oh, and not expensive either (actually, I have no idea what bags cost these days!)

Would anyone like to find me some pictures of what might be appropriate? Thanks!

My fav handbags are my Radley and tula bags.
