Deep Red Lipstick

So I am looking for a very deep, very dark and matte lipstick - very similar to the one the model in this picture is wearing. Any recommendations?

Fun I have Mac Sin. Its a bit too brown. I layer my Ruby Woo with it to make it sort of what I am after

Yeah but suggesting a light red when the OP has specifically asked for a very dark one just seems a bit obtuse.

In terms of the original photo, I can pretty much guarantee that the model isn't wearing one single lipstick. Most makeup artists will mix a variety of products to achieve the desired colour.

This one on the middle is revlon va va Violet - it's quite matte, and if you layer it over a dark pencil base, it's got good coverage. The one on the right is revlon black cherry, which is not as dark as I hoped :(

The one on the right is quite pink, really. The one in the middle, when it's on, is very close to the picture you posted. I've got that same picture on my pinterest, and have been trying to get something to match it for ages, and this is the closest I've come yet.

I'm consoling myself with the fact that it might be a combination of colours in that picture, and it might have been altered in post-production, so I will settle for as close as I can get for now.

I've also got a Collection lipstick (I think) from Halloween a couple of years ago, which I can't find, but it's gloriously gothic and dark, although not as matte as this Revlon one. I think it'd be close to the colour you want but not the finish. I bought it in Morrison's, but it isn't Rimmel or Maybelline, and I'm sure their other option is Collection.

oh. ignore everything I've said then. I think the original pic looks purple too. I don't have any dark reds, they are always too red and I look like a clown. Dark is good (I'm partial to the ribena overdose look too) but I find purples come out darker than reds.

Collection do a range called silent movie or something - take a look there for a dark red

The colour in your pic, OP, is Nars Le Train Bleu with Tom Ford Black Orchid over the top :)
