Trainers - alternative to Converse

Can the style-conscious Mumsnetters please advise me on a good alternative to Converse, which I have been wearing for years and am really tired of.

I think I want something a bit more robust, although this would be for everyday wear with jeans and not going to the gym.

Thanks.

Britabroad my leather Converse are flat as a pancake, and I find them uncomfortable. Not just because of the flatness either; they rub in strange places. As you can see I don't get the Converse love!

I like tennis shoes like Stan Smith. Also love Spring Court but they wear too quickly for their price.

Yes they are still flat like the normal ones but if thats the bit that you are most worried about for comfort so are some of the other suggestions like Stan Smiths and Vans. You'd be better off with some of the other trainer types people are suggesting- the ones you'd more likely play a sport in.

I have bought memory insoles for my converse and now they are super comfortable to walk in for miles and miles.
