This is a plea to the gurus of S&B on behalf of my lovely DM. She had her hair chemically straightened yesterday and forgot you can't wash it for 3 days. We're off to a very glam wedding today and it's flat and a bit crappy looking. Is there anything she can do to style it without ruining the straightening? A bit of a wave with curling tong/GHDs? Blow dry? Velcro rollers? Or should I just send her outside to stand in a stiff wind and hope for the best?

Has she been told she can't wash it for 3 days? When I had mine done I was told I could wash it the next day but it might have been a different brand if treatment. She must NOT apply heat to it before washing it.

If she's been told to leave it for 3 days then she has to leave it or the processing won't work. I was told I could re-straighten mine if it went Flickr using straighteners.

Yes I always hated this part of getting my hair straightened. For more body (after the three days) I would hang my head upside down and blow dry just the roots, perhaps give it a try, i wouldn't think it could impact the straightening too much.

I don't know anything about chemical straightening, so I suspect this idea Is wrong, but couldn't she use some dry shampoo? Batiste gives brilliant volume and (as far as I'm aware) wouldn't mix with the chemicals?

?Can she put it up? Or wear a hatGrin or both

Perhaps ring the salon that did the straightening and ask if they can help her.

BettyBitesBums · 03/10/2015 08:11

Thanks all. The salon is closed for a refurb today so can't ring. She was told three days and it was only yesterday afternoon so probably too soon to give it a bash. She was planning to do something with the straighteners but it sounds like that might be a terrible plan! Ah well. Fingers crossed for a gusty day!
