This is for a 5 year old boy, what would you consider to be the better option and why. Thanks in advance.

Both good but the jojo ones are slightly thicker ime. Just a shame they don't go over age 5-6!

WiganKebab10 · 01/10/2015 14:17

Try TK MAXX too, and potentially save some £££.

WoodleyPixie · 01/10/2015 14:29

been couple of years since I brought my boys coats from Boden/Jojo, ds2 always preferred the boden fleece lined anorak or the puffa type ones. ds1 was fleece lined boy through and through. The material might have changed on the jojo but ds1 said it was too stiff.

EldonAve · 01/10/2015 14:31

I prefer the Boden Fleece Lined Anorak to any of the JoJo options

But the price is too high now so I buy mine coats from H&M instead like this www.hm.com/gb/product/47934?article=47934-B

My boys are 9 and 11, now, but their best winter coats have been from Next or Landsend. The Landsend coat was down to £24 in the sale or else I'd never have risked sending it into school where things get trodden on, dropped in puddles, left on the yard and, very occasionally, taken by someone else.

Lambzig · 01/10/2015 15:30

I have sent ones back from both this year and ended up buying the fleece duffel from Uniqlo. It's lovely.

I love the M&S stormwear coats for DS. So much so that I've bought one two years early in the sales Blush

Sorry it's called technical jacket

Several colours available

Fleece lined but not puffy. I Love it

IslandGirlie · 01/10/2015 19:42

Love Boden jackets. Decathlon is great as well.

yazzy85 · 01/10/2015 19:47

We like the Boden ones the best too. Last year I bought DS a Boden and Jojo one, the Boden one fits better and still looks new this year. Jojo one is thicker and fits wider, sleeves at the end have bobbled up as well so its not as smart looking anymore either.

Coastingit · 01/10/2015 20:01

Get one from Tesco. Seriously. Save your pennies and buy yourself something nice.

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 01/10/2015 20:37

My son fell in love with this coat and so far so good. I had a decent discount code so had £10 off. It is a bit plasticky, however light, warm and waterproof. Joules digger coat

Fullsteamahead · 01/10/2015 21:26

Thank you so much everybody for your advice, I'm now even more confused! Lol

Think I'm just going to see where I can get best discount and go for that!

I normally get the Boden fleece lined jacket, but wasn't so keen on the designs this year so got this one instead. It's lovely, light and warm, blue colour is clear and delightful.

I do find them expensive but had a £10 voucher and a 15% code, which made it OK.

Coastingit · 01/10/2015 21:47

This

Coastingit · 01/10/2015 21:49

Or this

MarthasHarbour · 01/10/2015 21:50

Asda or Matalan

Seriously, the quality and value for money is a no brainer.

Coastingit · 01/10/2015 21:51

Nice red one

Coastingit · 01/10/2015 21:53

My boy has this and gets no end of compliments in it, should that matter more than the oneupmanship involved in spending £50 on a coat for someone who doesn't care that much and will last a year if that

herecomesthsun · 02/10/2015 00:43

I buy Boden but usually with at least 25% off - my daughter had a fleece lined anorak for £14 that she wore for 3 years.

herecomesthsun · 02/10/2015 00:44

also Landsend in the sale and half price POP from John Lewis sale (mean)

NewBallsPlease00 · 02/10/2015 00:47

Hatley at tkmaxx £20 instead of £45 in john Lewis!

whiteagle · 02/10/2015 01:08

If your are spending that I woild be tempted to look at "proper" outdoor coats - like Trespass or Didrikson and the like.
