Need inspiration - what items are you excited about getting/coveting this season?

I'm losing weight slowly and have lost 1.5 stone but am stuck in old clothes that I don't love.
What I'd like to do is to buy something to help me appreciate the benefits of the weight I've lost and encourage me to lose another two stone. But I'm really struggling to find something.
I can't do skinny jeans or leggings and can't spend hundreds but other than that I'm open to anything.
So wise ladies, please help inspire me with the clothes you're loving or coveting this season!

H&M clothes always perk me up- and the price is right, altho they are going a bit more upmarket. Go to a big one-more choices and sizes. I'm loving pinafores, and corduroy this season.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 24/09/2015 18:36

I haven't worn corduroy for years. Am I too old at 35??

I still want a soft leather bottle green biker jacket. Or grey. Also a cordoury button mini skirt. Also want some Ash boots. Nice proper tailored wool coat. Quite fancy a poncho, but think I am past it at 47.

Tk maxx is brilliant if you have the time to look through.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 24/09/2015 19:03

I do love all the ponchos but I think I'm neither the build, height or age for one.
A biker jackets not a bad idea. Are there any in particular that have caught your eye?

hope not flop -i'm more than 2x your age! I just got a B&W plaid blanket cape and am going to try to get my latterday hippy son to return my carpet patterned poncho. There's all different styles this year. Got one last year cut on a rectangle with long sides going down the arms= kiminoish and not bulky down the front. There are also lovely lighter weight knit ponchos and capes this year.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 24/09/2015 20:04

My slight trouble is that I carry the bulk of my weight on my legs so I might not suit them, but I'm up for a change so I'll go try some on.
I'm not where I need to be but for years I've hidden in whatever fits so I want to start trying some fun stuff now I can finally start to fit in stuff.

I want a cape. Not a blankety-woolly one, a coat-type wool one. And not black. Haven't found one yet.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/09/2015 23:26

I saw the capes in Sainsburys and went back the next day to try one on. Difficult to get the size right but a medium seemed to fit. But the sleeves were long and pointed. If I stood with my arms out, it was basically a folded over rectangle with a hood Hmm

I ordered a cape from eBay(should arrive tomorrow). No hood or sleeves. Small hook/clasp at the neck.
I'll float with pride Grin (I'm 49yo so too old to care)

mewkins · 25/09/2015 12:54

I would love a coat type cape in burgundy but suspect my arms may be restricted when wrestling with a toddler.
I want a pinafore dress but not found one that isn't bum skimming.

SuperFlyHigh · 25/09/2015 12:59

I personally am not a huge fan of cordoroy - but suede or faux suede is nice and you can do it in skirts or jackets.

Maybe with an embroidered blouse (peasant style) see Zara - very on trend. Or you could go the 60s route. depends what you would wear most often really.

amarmai · 25/09/2015 13:45

looking for a corduroy pinafore to wear with turtle necks and leggings. Rust wd be a good color or burgundy with maybe a navy turtle neck, to hide my wattles.

HappyGirlNow · 25/09/2015 16:47

Love this styling so have just ordered this Zara cape - hope I love it as much in real life Grin

amarmai · 25/09/2015 17:20

elegant cape!

mewkins · 25/09/2015 17:21

Nice cape. How do you carry a shoulder bag??

HappyGirlNow · 25/09/2015 19:17

Ha I don't think you do! Not on your shoulder at least, you'd have to hang it over your arm or hold it in your hand... Minor detail Wink

CointreauVersial · 25/09/2015 22:39

I'm after a pair of those slip-on skate shoes I'm probably a year too late, so I don't want to spend much.

And a green/khaki shirt. I saw a nice one in Zara.

I bought a lovely blanket cape from Tesco the other day. Not too "picnic blanket".

mewkins · 26/09/2015 08:48

Minir detail but I think that I will have to rule capes out for a few years. Unless I win the lottery and can employ a little man to carry my child/bag for me.

amarmai · 26/09/2015 18:17

a cross body bag or clutch wd work with a cape!

mewkins · 26/09/2015 18:46

I have neither as carry all my worldly possessions with me of course. Maybe a cape for occassions is needed.

Nyancat · 26/09/2015 19:35

I've mentioned my cape a couple of times, swear I'm not on commission, but I absolutely love it, but pricey but totally gorgeous. I get comments on it any time I wear it m.facebook.com/cocoonluxe

amarmai · 26/09/2015 19:54

or a top handle bag or tote?

Coastingit · 26/09/2015 20:43

I am mostly excited about my Ash Virgin boots! They work the same as winter boots but look more modern young and casual, they're a revelation.

Also I bought some white skinnies which are working nicely with my wardrobe which is mainly navy, grey and black in winter, so perks it up a bit.

I bought a Tesco poncho too which I'm loving - black and charcoal. Doesn't work with baby sling or cross body bags or backpack so hasn't yet been worn...
