"Going Out" Maternity Top or Dress needed TODAY

Emergency. (Not in the grand scheme of things, but...) Am going to a 30th birthday party at the weekend. Have just discovered all my friends have been buying out Karen Millen and Coast in preparation for it. I am 16 wks pg and people have just started to "notice" thought still just look "fat" in some clothes.

Need to find something to wear TONIGHT. Either maternity dress or top that doesn't cost over £100 or something in a size 16 (to fit my now enormous norks) which makes me look pregnant, not fat.

Arrggh. Is this impossible? Can go to Oxford St so any high street shop will do...

Try Topshop or Debenhams

shazronnie · 30/11/2006 12:31

Lots of empire line dresses / tops out there at the mo (try new look).

these make me look pregnant even when i'm not!! And usually make the most of big boobies too.

Debenhams on Oxford street have Red Herring maternity.

JackieNo · 30/11/2006 12:32

Warehouse ?

JackieNo · 30/11/2006 12:33

Or Dorothy Perkins

Oh cool. Maybe Debenhams. Lots of concessions there aren't there, to look for empire line things. Hopefully a one stop shop.

Actually ordered some stuff from Warehouse but the realised my norks are so big that I can't wear strappy tops and it's too late now to get new stuff delivered in time. Silly me. My enormous bra ruins the look somewhat.

what about this type of top - not maternity but empire line. nice with a pair of jeans. you have my sympathy as am also 16 weeks and out this weekend - wearing a similar outfit.

empire line top

Some lovely stuff in TopShop. Great baby doll velvet dress in the Boutique bit for £50.

Incy! Where have you been? The May 07 thread is a bit hectic to keep up with perhaps?

That's a really nice top. Will have a look in Warehouse when I'm in Oxford Street.

We do seem to spend an awful lot of time on that thread. You too have a lovely evening.

Hope to see you online again soon.
