I haven't been shopping for years, due to small people with zero patience! As far as I can remember, when I used to buy jeans that looked nice, it was usually after a huge chunk of time trying on loads of different makes/styles.

The last few pairs I've bought have been from the supermarket, as I can grab and run. They've been passable (at best!)

I've recently put on a bit of weight and my current jeans are getting too tight. I'd really like some that make the best of my figure so I feel comfortable and confident in them.

I'm 5'7, size 12 ish, 32 inside leg, but a bit of an apple shape so my waist is usually a size bigger than my hips. As a result, low rise tend to give me a muffin top AND bottom Sad

I tend to wear skinny or slim fit, don't like bootcut and can't wear heels to go with flares.

Any ideas of shops/styles to try would be brilliant! Budget is quite small, but if they were perfect... Wink

Thanks for reading, if you've got this far!

I have just bought two pairs if brand new zara jeans in navy from eBay, for 9.99 each. It was a bit of a punt but they are lovely. Can't link but the seller is 74pcb. I guess they are end if line or something. They are called fabulously soft skinny jeans. They are lovely and dark and fit well.

Thanks dairy, I looked at that seller but the Zara jeans have gone. Not sure about the others he was selling, as I've got no point of reference.

I just find if jeans do up comfortably, they are huge on my legs, or if they look great on my legs, they give me bulges around my waist!

There are so many styles out there, there must be a good fit for me somewhere (hopeful emoticon!)

Next skinny fit

There was a long thread on here recently about Gap High-rise jeans
I ordered a pair as they are on offer atm but even though I am a size 32 waist (apple also) they were too big. However they were a lovely shape and skinny and banished the muffin top. I have ordered a size smaller so fingers crossed!

I am similar size and shape to you and the last four pairs I have had have been from Oasis - Cherry Slim Fit. Really good for curvy figure, don't gape at the back. But basically I think you have to set aside time and go and try on about 200 pairs.

HowManyMoreTimes · 17/09/2015 21:35

Thanks, It's the trying on of 200 pairs that I can no longer do Sad That's why the suggestions are so helpful, at least I'll have a starting point of likely suspects!

I've found Next to be pretty disappointing recently, I've tried loads of theirs as it's so easy to order and return from home, but none have really flattered me at all.

So it looks like a trip to Gap and Oasis!

Gap resolution high rise skinny.
While you're at it also try Gap girlfriend jeans for a change of style.

I got a 35% off code from Gap this morning - LUCKYGAP

Bunbaker · 18/09/2015 08:42

I have the opposite problem of being a pear shape with a 13" difference between my hips and waist, but have a similar problem trying to find jeans that fit. The answer for me was jeggings.

I have some from White Stuff and they are so comfortable and fit properly, and are therefore far more flattering than ill fitting jeans. I take a 32" inside leg as well and they are long enough.

TriJo · 18/09/2015 14:57

Thanks for that code verenti - I may have accidentally'd a new pair of maternity skinny jeans with it...

SimLondon · 18/09/2015 20:31

I've got a couple of pairs of the m&s ones mentioned above and they seem to lose the elasticity - the dark blue ones i'm currently wearing are comfy but have gone baggy around the thighs which is not what I was hoping for in a skinny jean :-(

Is it a price thing i wonder...
