Well, Zara.... Not sure if I'm too old for that place, but I can't buy anything in there. I always look so dumpy in zara clothes. I'm 5'2 and 9 stone.

I like your list. Have a blazer from Fat Face. The odd top from White Stuff. I buy jeans from Next (which is frowned upon). The fit is good though.

KanyesVest · 15/09/2015 11:45

I'm 36, work from home or am home with the small children. Work in the charity sector, so no need for very formal attire although I dream of a good 80s power suit

Although I have in the past for some, I currently own nothing from:
Zara
White Stuff
Fat Face
Reiss
Whistles
Karen Millen
Monsoon
LK Bennett
Hobbs
Top shop
Dorothy Perkins
Joules
Boden
M&S
Coast - does it count if it's a hand-me-down I didn't pay for??

verenti · 15/09/2015 11:50

I own nothing from:
Zara
White Stuff
Karen Millen
LK Bennett
Dorothy Perkins
Joules
Crew
Coast
River Island
Primark
Cos
French Connection

Can't think of any more atm!

ouryve · 15/09/2015 11:51

45, dress for comfort.

I have a few pieces from white stuff and fat face. Not impressed with how the white stuff has washed but some of the fat face is growing on me. DH loves their menswear, too.

Nothing from any of those other places. Zara stuff is just weirdly shaped and I can never work out my size. The rest is mostly polyester. Same with Mint Velvet, which is also largely too pale for my colouring and too short in the body for me. Seasalt is lovely fabrics, but looks better as curtains. I'm tempted to look at their stuff for a winter coat this year, though.

NotTodaySatan · 15/09/2015 11:55

Glad it isn't just me with Zara! I'm 5'4 and curvy 9st 7lb and I look like a troll in their stuff. Also eveytime I go in it's wall to wall monochrome or beige and then there's one insanely patterned fugly bright brocade coat. What's that about Confused

I'm stealing

Boden
Joules
Mint Velvet
Cos

to add to my list.

NotTodaySatan · 15/09/2015 11:58

Also adding

All Saints (although I listed after one of their dresses last year)
Ted Baker

Consider myself quite trendy for my age. You can tell my age from using that word lol!

River Island (used to love Chelsea Girl)
New Look (bought maternity wear in there 3 years back nothing now)
Zara - went in the Oxford St store the other day - first visit in 10 years I think - and my goodness what a tip and they wanted me to spend £49 on a faux leather top! No!
Warehouse - used to be really good when it was a catalogue - remember those days...
French Connection - they used to be my go-to for work wear. Good well-fitting but cool trousers and good staple jumpers that were slightly edgy but wearable - not any more!
Karen Millen - I have a black strapless dress which I have not worn for five years. Used to have lots of things from there back in the early naughties. Like everywhere else they've got too expensive and trying to be too edgy.
Mint Velvet - never heard of them
Cos - (H&M offshoot?) - none of their stuff. Went in the shop in Regent st couple of years back and saw an orange scuba top for £99. Walked straight out.

cressetmama · 15/09/2015 14:17

Ancient, rural-dweller... which high street stores are after me?

Lucked · 15/09/2015 14:33

38 year old professional.

Hobbs
Jigsaw
Whistles
Cos - bought a blouse once and it went to the charity shop with the tags on.
All Saints but I am a bit old I think
joules
Karen Millen /French connection and Coast I do have old dresses hanging in my wardrobe but not worn or fitted in years.

Zara looks great on me when I am slim but I need to loose another stone before I can shop there again, the materials aren't forgiving.

ijustwannadance · 15/09/2015 14:53

Nothing from any of the posh shops (joules, boden etc) none in my not posh area.

I'm late 30's but still don't feel grown up enough to wear stuff from most of the shops mentioned. I just look daft if I try.

Nettletheelf · 15/09/2015 20:21

Hobbs and Monsoon are probably aimed at me: early forties with money to spend on clothes. But they are so frumpy!

Abraid2 · 15/09/2015 20:23

Next
Zara
Reiss
Mint Velvet
cos
white stuff
joules

Kennington · 15/09/2015 21:35

Fat face and white stuff

I like and other stories and COS not sure is my demographic

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 15/09/2015 21:38

I'm really not sure which shops think they are aimed at me! If I was a man, and when I'm shopping with dh, I often think that I'd wear the men's stuff in a lot of shops where I consider the woman's stuff quite frumpy or mumsy - john lewis own label, fat face, white stuff, even M&s mens, I think their bloke stuff I quite nice but won't go near the woman's!

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 15/09/2015 21:49

I'm 40ish, media / creative type, good salary. most of my clothes come from Zara, New Look, Primark Blush & Topshop. I own nothing from:

White Company
Hobbs (Princess Kate, just no)
COS (scandinavian sackcloth)
And Other Stories (in theory yes, in practice no)
Michael Kors
Mulberry
White Stuff
Boden
Joules
Monsoon
Karen Millen
All Saints

And definitely nothing posh :( My colleague had a Birkin. My handbag is from New Look.

Sunshineandsilverbirch · 15/09/2015 22:03

Lots of friends swear by Cos. I go in, pick up lots to try on. Walk out with nothing every time.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 15/09/2015 22:05

I'm 49yo, Health Care Professional, so I don't need smart work clothes, I have a uniform (makes life easier Grin )

I think all of these listed shops I have nothing from (with the exception of M&S and I have a pair of Next jeans)

I look at Wallis and think "Ohhh this should be me" but I haven't . I love some of the colours.

Floisme · 15/09/2015 22:10

M&S Classic
Jaques Vert
Planet
Alexon
Lands End
Precis
Minuet
Eastex
Windsmoor

But I do own some Hush Puppies.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 15/09/2015 22:23

I think Floisme's post is the answer to Cressetmama's question!

flightywoman · 15/09/2015 22:30

50, work in an office for an emergency service, love 50s style but don't wear it much.

What is aimed at me then?

I've never bought anything from Wallis - the fabrics have always felt really nasty.

Drywhitethanks · 15/09/2015 22:44

48, in teaching, upmarket town. Own nothing from:

COS
Fat Face
White Stuff
Joules
Monsoon
East
Laura Ashley
Wallis

Floisme · 15/09/2015 22:50

cressetmama let us go shopping and have ourselves some fun.

I forgot to include:
Anything sold in the Radio Times.

stripytees · 15/09/2015 23:08
