Returned to my natural brunette and never felt so dull :(

After years of highlights (been having them done since I was 18 and I'm now 47 Blush ) I've returned to my natural brunette hair, I had it dyed earlier this week after my hairdresser said my hair was in need of a break from the bleach after so many years. But... I feel SO dull. I never realised just how much attention blondes get and how I 'felt' like a blonde (I know this sounds ridiculous and I am Infact cringing as I type, would never say such shallow dross in real life). Now I look like every other late 40's, size 16 mum of 3. I will return to the bleach and just accept looking like a scarecrow. Has anybody else felt like this? Have I bought into too much Marilyn-marketing bullshit in 'feeling' like a blonde?

My brunette DD's (19,15 and 11) think I'm nuts!

Go back if you're not happy. I did this last time, rather apprehensively, but she was lovely about it and corrected the colour.

I've been brunette my whole life.. I used to get a lot of attention as a brunette but it's diminished quite a bit as I've got older (I'm 42).. I've recently gone blonde (sandy/golden) and the attention has increased tenfold - only thing that's changed is my hair!

I didn't do it to get more attention, this is just an observation. But I do think I'd find it hard to go dark again.. If I had the skin tone to pull off a dark brunette (like Catherine Zeta Jones, my favourite hair colour) I would in a shot but I can't. My natural hair is light-mid brown with coppery tones and it was feeling dull tbh.

I used to pride myself on being a natural brunette but now I really think I prefer being blonde, it suits my personality better than my natural hair colour.

Only once did I have a short brown style. It had an auburn hue to it. The only time in adulthood that I've had it that short and that dark.

Never again

My real name is Angela Goldenhair.

Also, I've had loads of people say it's far more youthful on me than my brunette hair..

Put a few highlights at the front strands for now till you decide what you want to do.
