My brother is super tricky to buy gifts for. I'm looking for sports wear the kind male equivalent of Sweaty Betty, any ideas?

You can never have too many cycling jerseys. Prendas do some great retro ones. Always riding have a decent selection too.

For those then the Ashmei stuff is amazing, and the sort of thing you dither about for yourself. I have their socks and they are super comfy and never rub or smell.

Clothing for cycling esp can be really tricky to buy for other people as the fit of different brands varies a lot
