Not quite sure I'd wear it for a christening though - seems a bit, well, glam. Depends on how revealing the neckline is and what you'd normally wear to church though.

i was hoping it would be just above the knee as i'm not very tall. do you think that might be being a bit optimistic? do you think its too glam then? i thought it was quite plain and i thought people are supposed to dress up for christenings. it is a service on our own in the afternoon so won't be with the rest of the congregation and its on New Years Eve so we are having a party afterwards.

Nice style - not too fussy. I think it would be fine for a christening if you wore a wrap or jacket over it, and maybe some fancy tights and flat shoes?
