:( Yes, all of that and more.

I am a 16/ 18 and I will try and lose what I can before then but I am realistic. It is an old uni friend who moves in glamorous circles compared to me!

I am not saying I want to be glam ... just passable. Budget of maybe a 100? I will be taller and fatter and frumpier than everyone else - but I would like to minimise the damage.

I like white stuff/ zara/ hoff/ dp / accessorise / handm etc in usual wear.

£100 is loads! Totally doable.

Two questions:
How cold is it going to be and
What's your favourite part of your body?

Thebirdsneedseeds · 06/09/2015 13:55

What body shape are you? What are your good bits? Arms? Waist? Boobs?

PantryofWhoGivesAFuck · 06/09/2015 13:57

it is late october - so chillier

stomach and hips are the not so good bits - so i guess things like wrap dresses help

arms and legs are ok?

There is a fabulous pant suit thing in M&S at the moment for about 50 quid I think that I have tried on and it's really slimming and flattering on stomach and hips, which are my dodgy parts. I am going to buy it for sure. Hang on I'll see if I can find it.

Squeegle · 06/09/2015 14:05

I think phase 8 is great for wedding stuff, they are good with tummy hiding styles! They often have sales so have a look on their website or your nearest branch, you can get excellent bargains sometimes.

Florriesma · 06/09/2015 14:07

Warehouse and oasis have some lovely long sleeved wrap dresses in. I believe the 70s are back.

I would aim to tone up a bit. drinking lots of ware helps. Somehow. I would also look to get some really good underwear that puts everything where you would like it.
Are you naturally photogenic more to the point? I can look ok going out but then always look terrible in the photos which are the things that last.

itsraininginbaltimore · 06/09/2015 14:09

here

I don't think the picture does it justice at all, it really is lovely on, and I think it's really versatile as well. Will do for a wedding or for winter evenings out and it has enough other colours in it to make matching up accessories easy. A nice little coral/rose cropped jacket or wrap/cape or something would look lovely.

Have no idea of your age or your taste. Confused

PantryofWhoGivesAFuck · 06/09/2015 14:11

I am 31 - single and no children, if that helps! :)

Have a look on Ebay, usually wedding outfits galore there as people wear them once then sell on. Echo Phase Eight - their stuff is fitted and good for those of us with curves - just googled it on ebay and there's some nice dresses : www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1311.R3.TR5.TRC1.A0.H0.Xphase+eight+size+18.TRS0&_nkw=phase+eight+size+18+dress&_sacat=0

Pantry - I'm not one to give advice on clothes but I would like to say I had a friend who was a size 16, and she always looked fabulous. I always wished I'd had her style, so please do not worry about your figure and I'm sure people will help you find something lovely

I wore this to my brother's wedding a few weeks ago and it was really flattering and also comfortable...

I second Phase Eight. I have this for an October wedding. Ruching across the stomach is flattering and its nice and stretchy as well as being lined.

20% off at Phase Eight at the moment so I suggest worth ordering & trying now.

There's afew on here in the sale.

I'm thinking the flared ones with long straight sleeves will make good use of your good arms and legs.

My wedding dress is featured at the top of the page( well half of it)

I've become a convert after a mumsnetterfound it forme.

The dress is beautifully made and got it £100 cheaper In the sale.

The pants suit is lovely but I wouldn't like having to remove almost all of it for the loo! Especially if it's winter/ cold

Dowser · 06/09/2015 15:04

My dress for my wedding is the last one in row 5. Someone has returned a size 14 as it had been taken off the we page.

It is really beautiful and much nicer in the flesh.

BrendaandEddie · 06/09/2015 15:04

not floral

othgraph · 06/09/2015 15:06

What about this Emily and Fin dress?

airside · 06/09/2015 15:17

I would second Eliza J as a good quality, well fitting brand. The "fit and flare" style is really flattering.

PantryofWhoGivesAFuck · 06/09/2015 22:12

Thank you everyone, some lovely and helpful advice for a good start. Will have a look.

Put lots of effort into your hair and make up then whatever you choose will look and feel better.

BringMeTea · 07/09/2015 01:22

Asos have quite a good selection. Narrow search to midi saves time I find. You will find something fabulous!

iamanintrovert · 07/09/2015 03:31

How do you use the loo in a jumpsuit?

FluffyCubs · 07/09/2015 04:30

o it's a total faff and absolutely not worth it if you're going off to get wasted.....good point. Love my jumpsuits but dont wear them if I'm out for a big ocassion. Yes, I sound like a pisshead who should be ashamed....

iamanintrovert · 07/09/2015 13:40

I've never ever worn one.

Seriouslyffs · 07/09/2015 13:47

That jumpsuit is lovely! OP you're tall!!!
I guarantee half the little sticks will be envying you your height. And the other half will just be happy they don't stand out. I'm thinner
but (much) shorter than you and if we met particularly if you're not grumpy hard stare I bet I'd come away from meeting you saying that Pantry was so elegant and young! I felt such an aged prune!
