And so the hunt for the best skinny jeans starts

I need some new skinnies, where should I look? I am a size 12, inverted triangle shape with narrow hips. And I like a very dark indigo blue. I have no idea if I should be wearing low rise, hi rise or whatever with my shape. Any recommendations please?

Gap was always my go to jeans place. Losts of different shapes, rises, colours. They have recently added a lot more stretch to their jeans which I dislike - but I know I'm in the minority there! They all come in around the £45 mark.

Uniqlo. They're amazing and were £35 last winter.

Marks and Spencer's 5 pocket "jeggings". They're not jeggings, they're brilliant skinnies made of a substantial denim with a proper fly etc, that wash and wear brilliantly!

PurpleSkyatthewateringhole · 03/09/2015 14:44

Another vote for m&s 5 pocket jeggings. Just bought navy and black ones today in preparation for a/w (and shocked DH at the price of two cashmere tops from scott&scott).

Boden high rise super skinny

elfofftheshelf · 03/09/2015 17:59

The best are Paige (Hoxton fit) but they are expensive. A cheaper alternative is the Gap Real Skinny (revolution denim) - they have lots of colours / washes and at the moment they have 40% off if you sign up to their mailing list at the til.

I have H&M ones in dark indigo. I have had them for over a year and they are still in fantastic shape. I think they were £30.

Dancergirl · 04/09/2015 09:23

Thanks, have looked at the M and S 5 pocket jeggings. Interestingly the most recent reviews are terrible! People are saying they have changed the fabric and the fit.

Mango.

TheFairyCaravan · 04/09/2015 12:38

I've just discovered Next denim leggings. They are jeggings, really, very soft and very, very stretchy. I've bought 3 pairs so far just incase they sell out.

mewkins · 04/09/2015 13:02

Gap or new look super skinnies.

norasbattys · 04/09/2015 15:18

Dorothy Perkins Eden Jeans. £20. Online have 25% off at the moment.

burnishedsilver · 04/09/2015 15:58

My favourites are from mint velvet.

yazzy85 · 04/09/2015 20:49

Gap

derektheladyhamster · 04/09/2015 20:52

I bought a 2nd pair of m&s jeggings a yr after I bought the first ones. They are not the same, quite crap really

BrendaandEddie · 04/09/2015 20:55

get high levels of lycra

new look or uniqlo

DontKillMyVibe · 04/09/2015 21:01

I got a pair of River Island 'Molly' jeggings recently and am impressed. They've really kept their shape with no baggy knees and are mid rise so no muffin top. I sized down and got a 10 (am a 12 in jeans that have no stretch).

RickOShay · 05/09/2015 08:56

Topshop Jamie blue black, I am roughly the same shape as you, I have tried other jeans, Dorothy Perkins, Uniqlo, Gap, Levi, but these are the best for narrow hips, no arse and a bit of a gut. They are ankle grazers, but I got them in 30 34 and they are perfect. I am about 5 8, size 12.

Cherrypi · 05/09/2015 09:36

I second the Boden ones. Lovely and thick.

Kennington · 05/09/2015 09:47

Biden high rise skinnies
Top shop Baxter and Jamie
M and s jeggings - some are still v good

ZaraW · 05/09/2015 15:59

My favourites are from Whistles.

BrendaandEddie · 05/09/2015 17:19

i do think you have to be carefully with denim leggings
they can look bit shit.

Also IME let me put on weight! Grin A waistband is good

SquadGoals · 05/09/2015 17:22

I'm a 12 with slimmish hips and no arse, so most jeans fall down.

RI Molly jeans are the only ones I will/can wear.

Dancergirl · 06/09/2015 09:40

Thanks for the suggestions. I might try the Boden ones and will look in Gap and RI too. Think I'd also like a grey pair this year too.
