Am i fat?
Do i need to lose it?
Or take it as a compliment.

Twice i have had this said to me by the same person. I dont know how to take it!!! How do you?

I had a 'friend' who said it every time I met her. I'd never lost any. I heard her say the same to another friend and a teacher. I think it was her default hello greeting. Weird.

But I would just take it that it's maybe what your wearing suits you and they have noticed something but can't put their finger on it. That is if you really haven't lost weight.

KillashandraRee · 20/08/2015 09:41

That I look nice and they are trying to figure out what's changed. It is meant as a compliment unless said in a worried tone with a furrowed brow Wink

I've noticed that some people won't want to say "you've lost weight- how did you do it?" so they'll keep repeating "you've lost weight" to somebody until they're told how it was achieved. Well, it happened to me once anyway.

flanjabelle · 20/08/2015 12:15

Mil used to tell me I had lost weight every time I saw her. I hadn't. I have now lost three stone and dropped from a size 18 to a 10/12. She never mentions it.

knackeredknitter · 20/08/2015 12:15

Well I once had someone snigger at me that I had gotten fatter, wasn't exactly a friend though.
I have lost just over 3 stones this year and no-one appears to have noticed at all

violetwellies · 20/08/2015 12:21

I'm at the GP's and she's looking accusing and makes me stand on the scales, and no I FECKIN HAVEN'T so get back in your hole.

Rainbowlou1 · 20/08/2015 12:30

I don't like discussing my weight with anyone because I'm so down about how I look...when people say wow you've lost LOADS of weight (when I haven't) I feel like they are implying I had loads to lose!
Also I hate when people at work who are dieting include me in their conversations about needing to lose weight

Rainbowlou1 · 20/08/2015 12:33

I also had someone say to me 'oh my god you've put loads of weight on' I was so upset and wish I'd had the nerve to say how funny I was just thinking the same about you!

iwantgin · 20/08/2015 13:23

It's a compliment imo.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 20/08/2015 16:10

I just assume what I am wearing flatters my figure.

Greengardenpixie · 20/08/2015 17:34

Thanks for the comments! and Rainbow...OMG!!!! How RUDE!!! I think i would be devastated if someone said that to me.
