Someone tell me what to do with my hair (pic included)

We have dp's mum's wedding on Saturday & I'm struggling to do anything much with my hair.

A friend's dd was going to put it up for me but is now working that day so can't. I can't do curls (I looked like a fraggle yesterday after attempting them), I can't put on a jewelled headband from Primarni without ending up with weird sticky uppy bits .

I just want to do something a bit different but not too complicated! Someone tell me what to do

Can you get the hairdresser to blow it into loose waves? Agree no hair accessories.

Really, it just feels boring! Hairdresser is probably a no-go, I have the girls to sort (flower girls) and dp is walking his mam down the aisle so don't think I'll get much time before we leave.

I'll youtube how to blow dry properly and practise over the next few nights.

Could you borrow a Babyliss Big Hair from somewhere?

I don't think anyone I know will have a Big Hair - I want one but it's low down on my 'to buy' list atm.

I'm, rubbish at blow drying, my bobbed hair is shorter than yours. I bung in some cheapy Velcro rollers after a quick squirt of volumising mousse and blast of hairdryer (the rollers stay in better if hair isn't wet through) leave to dry, then run over with straighteners.

Might a blow dry at the hairdressers on Friday evening last?

I mean, it probably won't look quite the same as if you hadn't slept on it, but whenever I've been to the hairdresser, it still looks markedly better the next morning than it would've done if I'd tried a blowdry.

You could even tell them it's specifically for a wedding the next day, and they might product you up to the gills.

I had some velcro rollers - they went to the charity shop (unused and still in their box) after sitting in a drawer for years .

Dp is going to town at some point this week but I'm not sure I'll have time to get to grips with them if he picked me some up.

I'm just sitting down with a now t watch a few youtube videos while the girls play out.

mixed, I'll have a ring round a couple of local ones and ask them. I'm helping decorate the reception venue on Friday so not sure what time...will ring dp's mam and check first.

Honestly, if you're not going to have much time on the Saturday because of sorting the girls, I'm just wondering when you're going to be fitting in time for doing much to your hair yourself.

Another thought - do you know a mobile hairdresser who'd come round on the sat morning for a quick blowdry at home? Although at this time of year I guess anyone any good is likely to already be booked up doing weddingy things for people.

It's like your hair with height and volume. How about some back combing and hair spray?

The wife of someone dp works with is a mobile hairdresser, I'll ask him to ask her if she could fit me in.

I've no idea how I'm fitting in sorting myself out at the moment! I will though - at some point

I'm watching blow dry video's but they're all using products & apart from mousse to tame dd1's hair a little bit and dry shampoo for in between days I haven't got anything

Do I need something to keep it volumised? (preferably findable on Tesco app if I do!)

I was about to second Velcro rollers until I saw you don't have time to buy any.. I don't have the patience to sit and blow dry my hair, but I tend to put rollers in before bed, sleep in them and then straighten it in the morning. No products added but I have a sort of frizzy hair type that holds its shape, rather than shiny hair...

Also, you look very toned upper body and I am very jealous!

Hmmm, my round brush is only half the size of the one's they're using too!

Can you get to primark before the weekend? They have massive round brushes for £1.

Dp's mum is off to town tomorrow, I'll see if she's going that way (she'll probably send her dp in though - she doesn't like Primark ).

Right, first attempt.

The right side is quite flat & has a natural kink I can't get rid of. & the left looks a little weird around the temple ish. And, I managed to pull the handle off the brush

I haven't tried it the other way round for years! I'll try doing that tonight and see what it does.

Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be a pro
