Can I wear this dress with opaque tights to a wedding?

I have this dress

Just received an unexpected invite to a wedding in October. We are moving house soon and money is tight so I'd prefer not to buy another dress that I may not wear again.

I bought this dress recently. It's 50s style swing shape which suits me. I would change the belt for a red one that I already have. However, I'd need to wear fairly opaque tights for various reasons:

  1. My legs are not my best feature
  2. It's October in Ireland and therefore likely to be freezing
  3. I have a fairly large tattoo on my lower leg that I'd prefer not to have on full display for a conservative wedding (DP's family...if it was my own I wouldn't care about showing it).

What do you think?

Sounds good to me.

I'm in Ireland too. It's cold enough now for opaques!

Too right it's cold enough now for tights! I'm still wearing bits of last year's winter wardrobe for work!

Yes, but maybe keep the black belt and go for coloured tights?
