Get compliments galore on all the below items, jumpsuit whilst in Brixton Splash Carnival from random people, the others from friends/relatives etc.

This lovely Top Shop jumpsuit - I'm 5 ft 5 - size 12, bigger norks and it is amazing...

New Icons H&M biker leather jacket - I had had biker jackets when a lot younger but ditched them, got too fat for them etc... got this 2 years ago...

Re the above - I was also losing faith in Top Shop their styles - would they suit me at 43 etc but they've come up trumps lately!

Those midi skirts are lovely. I hate 'maxi' anything but love the midi length. Some stuff in Topshop is definitely for 15 year olds but they do have some good stuff for us 'oldies' too Smile

Not an item of clothing but a colour - orange. I spent years thinking it wouldn't suit me (rosy skin which is prone to redness, well covered by make up though). Then last winter I got drawn to a bright orange jumper in New Look, held it up to my face in the mirror and wow! Amazing colour on me. Can't get enough of it now. Nice when you get a S&B surprise Smile

Lotta I suit bright sunshine yellow too - didn't discover that until this year.

Orange is great a very sunshine colour. Smile

I adore yellow as well, although I tend to go for quite a cool lemon shade

Thanks for the Topshop reminder, I've just had a quick look on the website and saw a jacket that looks perfect for Autumn so that's going on the list Wink Now back to no-spend August. Focus Lotta, focus!

Those shoes that look like a man's shoe. Not at all "me" I thought but it looks nice!

I have red hair and avoided purple for years. Turned out with my "alternative" clothes it looks fine, like an arty clash not a mistake.

Cropped trousers that fit properly. Perfectly fine for a short woman if they're the correct length up your calf, it looks in proportion.

This dress is everything I hate in dresses - floral, voluminous, has a capey bit, polyester - yet somehow it is the most stunning thing on! The colours are much nicer than it looks online, it's pinks and purples, and it's nice thick fabric and fully lined.

Highly recommend Monsoon sale dresses at the moment - lots of bargains.

A petite maxi skirt.
I am 5'1"
I wore it with a plain fitted white t shirt and everyone wanted to know where I got it. My fashionista BFF made me buy it.
It really shouldn't have worked at all. It just does.

Katie maxi skirts work great on us short women.
It's one of those magazine/tabloid "Style Guru" rules with little basis in real life. They just need to fit well. Smile

I bought these cropped jeans on a whim (saw them on schoolrunmum IG, loved them on her and copied). They shouldn't suit me - pear shaped, 5"6', - but I have worn them to death this summer and love them and hve had loads of compliments.
