do you mean galaxy dress knockoffs? best of the bunch in gap, others v shoddy material i thought. friend has one but not seen it on, she pleased - is curvy. i look like a monolith in a dress so have not tried.

noddyholder · 22/11/2006 15:05

Lovely shrug dress in marks in Brighton v flattering shape and only £35!

MrsBadger · 22/11/2006 15:08

this one?
tried it on out of interest as is too warm for work and wouldn't wear it at home
tis only doable if you are shapely or well scaffolded underneath - very unforgiving to lumps and saggy bits.

fishie · 22/11/2006 15:08

ooh sorrrrry did not see sweater bit. link not working for me. do you mean that grey one? has sold out everywhere except in giant sizes - sister's friend has searched in vain for a 10. and i do not think a size 18 sweater dress is a good idea.

did look at one in gap, looks like would go baggy at the bottom after a couple fo wears.

nailpolish · 22/11/2006 15:15

how long is it MrsB?

TheHighwayCod · 22/11/2006 15:41

so if they are sold out WHO is wearing them

OP posts:
JoolsToo · 22/11/2006 15:50

they've got a chunky knit one - I saw it today nearly tried it one but decided I'd only wear it with jeans and as I'm short it wouldn't do much for me!

paddingtonbear1 · 22/11/2006 16:01

they are sold out in our local M&S but I've not seen a single person wearing one! Maybe they only wear them at home?! I actually have the Gap one and really like it, but having said that I've not really worn it yet! If I still haven't by next month I might just take it back as gap have no time limit for returns.

Pollyanna · 22/11/2006 16:29

I've got a similar one to the Gap one from French Connection. It looks really good over jeans. I wear it out in the evening with opaque tights and high black boots. I am not thin, although I am tall, but I think it is flattering!

TheHighwayCod · 22/11/2006 16:48

well they arent sold out ont eh website
so WHO IS WAERING THEM

OP posts:
paddingtonbear1 · 22/11/2006 17:10

I got that wrong... they do have some in the store... in red!
I haven't seen anyone else wearing the Gap dress either, and they were supposed to have sold out!

scatterbrain · 22/11/2006 17:14

Am horrified at size-ist remarks from fishie !

I have this dress in an 18 !! I am a 16 and I liked it looser - am that you think that !

Giant size !!!!

Hurrumph !

MrsBadger · 22/11/2006 17:50

naily I'm 5'8" and iirc it was just about bottom of kneecap

nailpolish · 22/11/2006 17:52

goodness ti would be ankle length on me

does it come in different lengths

MrsBadger · 22/11/2006 18:10

not sure - was trying something else and just grabbed one out of nosiness.
Only one size on website...

nailpolish · 22/11/2006 18:11

thanks MrsB

fishie · 22/11/2006 19:00

scatterbrain i am a size 18

scatterbrain · 22/11/2006 20:09

You are ?

Then get the dress - it looks fab on me ! many compliments already and only worn it twice !

fishie · 22/11/2006 20:17

sb, dresses are not good for me in gen and that one would bring out my every worst bit. i bet you are fairly tall.

(must admit to rather loving the sleeves on it)

elclose · 22/11/2006 20:19
