As I was musing about rediscovering my own 'style' post kids and post 35, it got me to thinking about style icons and who I might like to emulate a little as I find my way, a bit like I did as a teenager.....so...who are your style icons/muses/heros/heroines? Who do you like to channel, even just a little bit?

Jean Serberg - from Breathless era mixed with a bit of Liz Frasier from the Cocteau twins around the Teardrop/Massive attack period.

I like a mix of masculine and feminine in how I dress. A little bit streamlined Lagenlook sometimes but with more of an edge. I am always drawn towards more masculine footwear.

Deeznutz · 27/07/2015 23:28

Oh fgs -Fraser.

Marylou2 · 28/07/2015 07:18

Emmanuelle Alt, Francoise Hardy but as Judydreamsofhorses very rightly says a bit of Bet Lynch leopard can be very tempting particularly in Autumn/Winter.

I love Jessica Albas style
She always looks great even in casual mode with her kids.
I would love to have her wardrobe
She always looks classy yet with a little funky twist.
I have regularly googled her style to get ideas for outfits (sad!) Smile

As does Sandra Bullock; cannot believe she is 51

Why?

Glad people have mentioned Bowie! Grin

AmberNectarine · 28/07/2015 08:26

Aluna Francis
Leigh Lezark
Lily Allen
Kristen Stewart

Alisvolatpropiis · 28/07/2015 12:57

Audrey Hepburn
Miranda Kerr
Kate Moss

squoosh · 28/07/2015 13:52

Diane Kruger
Gemma Arterton (does a good line in vampy)
Lou Doillon

And there's a NY fashion industry type person called Susan Cernek who pops up on street fashion blogs who I think always looks fab.

I used to love Kate Moss' style but it's been yonks since I've been impressed by any of her fashion offerings.

MsBojangles · 28/07/2015 14:05

Emmanuelle Alt
Rosie Huntington-Whitely
And this blogger: www.fashionmenow.co.uk/

MsBojangles · 28/07/2015 14:12

Geraldine Saglio - similar to Alt but a little more feminine
Barbara Martelo - when I want to attempt sexy.

doublepotions · 28/07/2015 14:18

Helena Bonham Carter
Kate Moss
Alexa Chung
Edie Sedgewick

burnishedsilver · 28/07/2015 16:57

Olivia Palermo.

Helena Bonham Carter has a tendency to look like she slept in her clothes.

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 28/07/2015 17:22

Jeanne Damas and Lou Doillon for casual.
Stella Gibson and Vogue editors for work.
N.B. I'm not that cool, but I do try.
