As I said before, I'm 24, 5'7", size 12, good legs, big norks, good arms, bit of a tum (thankfully that can be solved with magic pants). Brunette, brown eyes (God sounds like a personal ad!)

dress

It's a gorgeous dress - I'd reserve judgement on it until you tried it on - it might not be the most flattering over the big norks (v-necks etc generally considered to be more flattering). But it is lovely - and that colour is fabulous.

merlin · 21/11/2006 20:32

wow! that looks fab! WIsh I had the figure to wear something like that ............. and sitting here drinking wine and eating cheese straws is not going to help is it?!!!!!!

I know, the neckline is my biggest concern, but if it shouldn't be too bad if it is wide (sort of slash neck/boat neck) that usually looks quite flattering. Plus I have a narrow back so shouldn't look too bulky on top, IYSWIM.

I guess you won't know for sure until you try it on - I do love it. What jewellery and shoes?

EllieChocolateOrange · 21/11/2006 20:36

not sure i'd go for that colour if you are brunette/ brown eyes...or does purple sometimes suit you?

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 20:40

not really a jewellery person, so probably not much. Maybe a chunky bangle/bracelet type thing and some earrings.

It looks more like a dark, inky blue to me, ellie. I look ok in dark colours, the only way to know for sure is by trying it on, as jackie says

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 20:56

totally gorge.

(noticed 'handwash' though.. I would never get it clean)

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 22:10

How about these (as they've got the purply colour in them)? Might be a bit too daytime though. These are lovely too , and the suede would be a nice contrast with the shine of the dress. Expensive, though.

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 22:13

I like the 1st pair, but not the second. They are £££££ though

Is that the sort of thing you're after - high stiletto-ish heels, maybe not all in purple/inky blue, but with a bit of it on? Or sparkly (all gold)? could look fab if you're that way inclined...

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 22:15

High, sexy, spindly

OP posts:
JackieNo · 21/11/2006 22:16

OK - will look...

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 22:16

if metallic, I would prefer silver

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 22:18

Thank you, btw

OP posts:
JackieNo · 21/11/2006 22:19

Definitely high , but does that count as an ankle strap? (Also in pewter )

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 22:23

Mmmm - patent .

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 22:28

Do you think the grey ones would work? Possibly not. How about these ?

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 22:30

Nice shape to this one , but I'm not 100% convinced about the bow.
